Interview with Professor Oak’s Voice Actor + Vic Mignogna to Voice a Pokemon Role

A comedy group on YouTube called Underbelly recently conducted an interview with Stuart Zagnit, the voice actor of Professor Oak under 4Kids. In the interview, he discusses how he auditioned for Professor Oak, what it was like to record episodes, Pokemon’s popularity, and how he learned 4Kids lost the license to Pokemon. TPCi should take him back whenever Professor Oak decides to appear on the show again!

On a related note: I was at Anime Expo this past weekend where Vic Mignogna, a popular anime English voice actor best known for playing Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, revealed during his Q&A session that he had just recorded a voice role for Pokemon. On Monday during his autograph session (I was first in line so I could ask him about it :D), his wife informed me that he had recorded the role during a visit to New York. So, he’s probably voicing a one-time character. He had expressed an interest in playing a role on Pokemon for quite some time, so TPCi told him to drop by if he was ever in town. When I went up to him for my autograph, though, he said he wasn’t allowed to say which role he played. Guess we’ll find out soon!
