‘EX Battle Boost’ leaks have begun – Excadrill-EX and more!

New cards from EX Battle Boost have been revealed thanks to twitter user Mizuno, including a normally Stage 1 Pokémon as a brand new EX card making for two known new EX cards for the set at present, and a handful of new exclusive cards for the set.

The revealed cards are: Charmeleon (#10), Empoleon, Phione, Kyurem (#35), Trubbish (#53), Gothita (#55), Gothorita (#56), Excadrill-EX (#66), Swablu, Druddigon (#90), Juniper’s Dad (#93), Shadow Triad and two Pokémon Smash special cards called Pokémon Enterprise. Empoleon, Phione, Excadrill-EX, and all trainer cards except for Shadow Triad are brand new, and all of the reprints feature new artwork.

Now that we’ve got a better look overall at a variety of cards for the set, it’s clear that there is no rarity system in this concept pack at all. Mizuno also confirmed that there are 7 secret cards all up, bringing the set grand total up to 100 neat, which is a rather fitting way to cap off the end of the BW-era as we know it for the Japanese side of the TCG. It’s also nice to see that we’re getting a lot of storytelling in the artwork across the whole set, such as Trubbish being dumped by a garbage truck, only to befriend a Phione who then takes Trubbish to go play with Empoleon… or Charmeleon accidentally burning Swablu’s wing. It’s a nice touch!

Update (5:50pm PDT): Other campaign winners who received boxes early have started to post photos and pull rates. So far it looks like there are 5 EX cards, 2 Supporters, 1 ‘SR/UR’, and 3 reverse holos per box. One of the full art variants this time is a totally gold Zekrom! You can check it out below.

Juniper’s Dad – Trainer
