All XY11 ‘Explosive Fighter’ and ‘Cruel Traitor’ Translations!!!
We received word today that the official Pokemon Card website would be posting all of XY11’s card images a week early — and they did! This decision was made because XY11 is coming out only three days before Japan’s Nationals where it will be legal for play. This is a one-time early reveal so players can study the cards.
XY11 Explosive Fighter and Cruel Traitor will be released in Japan next Friday, June 17th, to promote the Volcanion and the Mechanical Magearna movie, which will play in theaters on July 16th. The set will then be released in America on August 3rd as Steam Siege. It will be legal for Worlds as well.
The seven Pokemon BREAK in the set are Yanmega BREAK, Clawitzer BREAK, Hydreigon BREAK, Talonflame BREAK, Pyroar BREAK, Xerneas BREAK, and Yveltal BREAK. The six Pokemon-EX are Steelix-EX, M Steelix-EX, Magearna-EX, Gardevoir-EX, M Gardevoir-EX, and Volcanion-EX.
The eight dual-type Pokemon are Volcanion-EX (Fire/Water), M Gardevoir-EX (Fairy/Psychic), M Steelix-EX (Metal/Fighting), Bisharp (Darkness/Metal), Azumarill (Fairy/Water), Shiftry (Darkness/Grass), Galvantula (Grass/Lightning), and Volcarona (Grass/Fire).
Note that no full art images or secret rares were released, so other than Pokemon Ranger, we have to wait until next week to see the rest. As usual, a huge thanks goes to our translation team for all of their hard work: Sean T., Michael S., Jake C., Hannes S., Vincent, Franco T., Bangiras, and Andrew C.
Explosive Fighter
Corrections: Clawitzer BREAK allows any Active Pokemon to have increased damage when attacking your opponent’s Active Pokemon, not just Clawitzer BREAK. | Updated Croagunk’s Better Poison. If the Active is Poisoned, they take 30 more damage between turns (40 damage). If you use the attack again, they take 30 more damage again (70 damage). On top of other effects that might change Poison’s default damage. | Fixed Hydreigon’s Ruthless Bite.
