Japan Rotating All “A” Block Cards from Standard, New Turn-One Rule

Today at Tokyo’s Champions League tournament, it was revealed that all “A” block cards will rotate out of Japan’s Standard format on November 29th. Cards from their “A” block include (roughly) our Sun & Moon set through Crimson Invasion. Cards with the B, C, and D legality marks will remain legal (our Ultra Prism through Sword & Shield).

Our first Sword & Shield set will also feature Japan’s legality markers on the bottom of the cards. Check out my theory article on why I think we’re getting worldwide set releases and card legality starting next year.

A new rule change was also announced: the player going first can’t play a Supporter card on their first turn.
