Update #2 (Monday, 10:30 AM) - The official Pokemon Black and White website has posted a clear screenshot of Yanappu in battle along with a clear image of its Ken Sugimori artwork, as you can see below. | Update (5:00 PM) - Uploaded a low-quality video below. Sorry about the audio - I wasn't expecting them to reveal anything and didn't have time to set my computer to record the incoming sound so it took it from my built-in mic instead. I also opened the recording program so fast I didn't get to adjust the size, which is why the video is cropped.

Pokemon Sunday just finished airing and revealed the green Pokemon that was first revealed as a toy several weeks ago: its name is Yanappu (ヤナップ). It is the Grass Monkey Pokemon, a pure Grass-type, knows a new attack named Acrobat, and its ability is Gluttony. In triple battles, Acrobat allows Yanappu to hit Pokemon outside its normal range, such as the opponent's Pokemon to the far left if it's on the far right. The attack's base power doubles when Yanappu does not have a hold item. In the video below, Acrobat is super effective against Tsutaaja, meaning it is most likely a Flying-type move. The Grass Monkey Pokemon stands 0.6m tall and weighs 10.5kg.

The Pokemon Sunday crew stated Yanappu is owned by someone in Best Wishes. I'll place my bet on Dento, especially since he is a waiter and the Pokemon resembles broccoli with oven mittens - imagine it climbing trees to get food for Ash and crew, then Dento cooking it (the food, not Yanappuu). This may mean Dento is a Grass-type Gym Leader as well. His hair color is green, a green background in used on his official Ken Sugimori artwork, and he ordered an unseen Pokemon in Thursday's video to use Solar Beam (perhaps Yanappu?). Green = Grass! Thanks go to Sabonea Masukippa and Bangiras for translating the above information!

TV Tokyo aired a new Best Wishes preview at the end of yesterday's Pokemon episode and revealed two female characters who resemble Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Since Isshu is far from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys we have known since the second episode of the show have apparently not spread that far yet. However, since the new nurse and police officer resemble the originals, they may be related - perhaps extended family (or the character designers paying homage to the originals... or the next version of the Joy and Jenny clones that a mad scientist somewhere has been unleashing on the Pokemon world since the beginning of the show... who knows at this point?). We've known for a while that the typical nurse from the games is not the same as the past four generations, so the anime is obviously reflecting this idea as well. After showing the new Joy and Jenny, the trailer revealed a new character named Shooti. He is a Pokemon Trainer who is taking part in the Isshu League and also doubles as a Pokemon photographer. It is unknown what his role in the story will be, though "rival" might be a good guess.

Isshu's Nurse Joy Isshu's Officer Jenny Shooti, a Pokemon Trainer and Photographer

The preview also showed a Mijumaru battling Dento in his Gym. Dento is the first Gym Leader of the Isshu region and will be joining Ash, Iris, and her Kibago on their journey (he's Brock's replacement while Iris is Dawn's). If we take the layout of Dento's Gym at face-value, he may be a Rock-type Gym Leader since the terrain has rocks everywhere. However, it's still a bit early to say what type he is for sure. We do not know who owns Mijumaru, but a good guess would be Iris or Ash if it's not some random Trainer's (or even Dento's). The clip of Mijumaru battling Dento's unseen Pokemon confirms Mijumaru's stomach shell is detachable, which the TCG Starter Kits from the other week first showed; Mijumaru uses the shell to defend itself from Dento's attack. The TV trailer is below courtesy of Filb.de along with a few short clips of Shikijika, Meguroko, and Mamanbou that the TV Tokyo website just posted.

Update (9:00 AM, Friday) - The Entei figure was actually released in Japan before. Thanks go to Shining Raikou for notifying us about this.

A new "HeartGold & SoulSilver Series Collection Box" will be released this fall in America and will contain five HeartGold & SoulSilver series booster packs, three promo versions of the rare Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr from HeartGold & SoulSilver as holos, and, most notably, a new Entei figure. The Entei is from a Japanese 13th movie bottle cap set by Kaiyodo, the designer of the TFG. Click the thumbnail below for a larger image.

The Pokemon Center in Yokohama, Japan is currently airing a short advertisement for Black and White which reveals two new Pokemon and confirms that the Tabunne photo from the other day is genuine. Unfortunately, the quality of the video is extremely low and the Pokemon are covered up by Pokemon Musical accessories, so it is difficult to make them out - one appears to be a blue octopus (the sprite on the left in the first photo; you can see it without its accessories at 0:25) and the other looks like it is green and yellow (the sprite in the center of the second photo). Hopefully someone else visiting the Pokemon Center will be able to get better video or photos of the advertisement. The media below is courtesy of the Sasuga Pokemon Brothers blog.

Sorry for the lateness of these scans! Barely anyone sent in scans on Saturday and then I got caught up in real-life and online work during the week. Anyways, I finally had time to edit the remaining 15, so we now have all the HS - Undaunted scans thanks to Torterra Chips, Shakespeare, Brandon P., Victor A., KaoruSquee, Sensei T., Peyton S., Jirachinick, Meagle9761, GL Mo, DNA, Lordy Jones, and Jake D. Click the thumbnails below for larger scans. They will be replaced with higher-quality scans within the next few weeks when Shakespeare finishes collecting and scanning the set.

Bangiras has looked through the entire Japanese rulings database and has compiled all rulings related to Undaunted's cards into a FAQ. The rulings help players understand how the cards work to a better degree and in some cases help point out mistranslations on the English cards. Bangiras has also updated all of the FAQs from Rising Rivals to Clash at the Summit, which you can access under "PCL Card Rulings" in the left menu. Thanks Bangiras!

Kanto Starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle

A special magazine named Pokemon Pia will be released on September 10th in Japan and will feature behind-the-scenes information about the production of Black and White. Revealed in its product description is that each magazine will come with a password for encountering either Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in the Dream World. When the Pokemon are brought back to Black and White and captured, you will discover that they have different abilities than the usual Overgrow, Blaze, and Torrent; at this time we do not know which, but considering Dream World Vaporeon has Hydration and Dream Wolrd Glaceon has Ice Body, the new abilities may have something to do with their elements.

The magazine itself contains interviews and discussions with Junichi Masuda, Ken Sugimori, Game Freak's graphic designers, The Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara, and AKB48's Rie Kitahara and Rino Sashihara (a popular Japanese band), "who love Pokemon." According to the product description, "It'll be filled with secret stories about the making of these games! Of course we'll introduce all the old games, the anime, and movies - everything about Pokemon. From children to adults, this is a magazine that every generation can enjoy." Additionally, each magazine comes with a set of Pikachu earphones. Pokemon Pia is a one-off issue, 64 pages, and will cost 1260 yen.

In terms of early Pokemon designs, which of the following was originally a single Pokemon but was later split into the Pokemon they are today?
