Between December 15th and January 14th, Pokemon Centers in Japan will be selling a new limited edition Charizard-themed 3DS XL for 18,900 yen ($235), the standard price for a 3DS XL. However, only those who win a raffle will have the opportunity to purchase it. Fans can enter the raffle at Pokemon Center stores or via the mail between November 3rd and November 26th. The 3DS will be region locked.

It is currently unknown how many of the Charizard units will be made available. It is also unknown if the unit will receive an international release like the Pikachu 3DS XL, which is coming to Europe later this year.

I have more Boundaries Crossed scans but won't have time to edit them today because of skewl. In the meantime, if you attended a pre-prerelease, feel free to e-mail in your scans to [email protected] (especially anything rare or holo). Thank you!

The Boundaries Crossed two-pack blisters will come in two varieties: one features BW54 Pikachu and a reprinted Raichu from Next Destinies as a special holo, while the other has BW55 Elgyem and Beheeyem from Next Destinies also printed as a special holo. Both cards were originally BW-P promos in Japan. The packs also come packaged with one Boundaries Crossed booster pack and one sampling pack containing three random common cards from the set. Thanks goes to auraguardianhadou for sending in the scans below!

Japan will be releasing a new mini-set on February 1st called Shiny Collection. Like this year's Dragon Selection, which was released in late January, all of the cards in Shiny Collection will be holographic and there will only be 15 booster packs per box. But unlike Dragon Selection, there will only be four cards per booster pack instead of five. No other details are known about the product at this time.

While the "shiny" in Shiny Collection might make one think that shiny Pokemon will appear in this set (alternate colored Pokemon), "shiny" in this case could just be referring to "gorgeous" and "cute" as well as the holographic cards. The font of the product act is rather feminine, pink, and the Pokemon used in the ad are ones that usually appeal to girls. The product description also makes no mention of alternate colored Pokemon, which would normally be one of the first selling points. So, we might not actually see them in the set. Thanks goes to HeatRotomFTW from our forums for providing us with this news!

A new product description for BW8 Spiral Force / Thunder Knuckle has been released, providing us with the first details about the two sets. Thanks goes to Naninomoka for the translations below! As a reminder, BW8 will be released in Japan on December 14th.

  • Team Plasma cards will become more powerful with this set.
  • Many Pokemon from the TV show will appear in the sets (does this mean we'll see Deoxys appear in the show this December?).
  • Thundurus' Therian Forme will appear as an EX card in Thunder Knuckle.
  • The product description alludes to Deoxys' formes also appearing in Spiral Force.
  • There will be 51 cards per set for a total of 102 cards (excluding secret rares).

As is sometimes the case with prereleases, Singapore had its Boundaries Crossed prerelease ahead of the rest of the world yesterday. As a result, we now have 60 of the set's scans! If you're a fan of our Facebook page, you were given an early preview of some of the cards - if you want to be in on the scoop next time, make sure you "like" our page!

If you have any Boundaries Crossed cards, please scan and e-mail them to [email protected] and we'll post them up. We'll have more scans at some point this week, so be sure to keep checking back! Prereleases will take place in America over the next two weekends.

Boundaries Crossed is comprised of cards from Japan's BW6 Cold Flare and Freeze Bolt and the National Beginning Set. However, Bicycle, Escape Rope, Ether, and Virbank City Gym have been cut in favor of Poke Ball, Great Ball, Potion, Switch, and Energy Search. The list of Trainers in the set is thus #127 Aspertia City Gym, #128 Energy Search, #129 Great Ball, #130 Hugh, #131 Poke Ball, #132 Potion, #133 Rocky Helmet, #134 Skyla, #135 Switch, and #136 Town Map. Full art Cheren, Bianca, and Skyla are also in the set. Although we don't have their scans below, we also know that shiny Altaria and shiny Terrakion are in the set, and have also heard rumors that shiny Golurk and shiny Rocky Helmet are in as well.

To discuss this set, check out this thread on our forums!

A new Salamence promo will be packaged with the next issue of Japanese manga and gaming magazine V Jump along with reprints of Bagon, Shelgon, and Devolution Spray from recent sets. The magazine blurs out Salamence's card effects, but we do know it has 150 HP, an ability, and an attack for [R][W][C]. We'll post its scan and translation when the promo is released next month. This will be the first time this particular magazine has released a Pokemon card before, and the first time since 2009 that Pokemon cards have been released in any Japanese magazine.

We're still playing with our servers today, so please excuse the site's load time and any errors you receive!

For this year's Play! Pokemon tournaments, the Eeveelutions from Dark Explorers will be given out as reverse holo promos printed on the stitched holofoil paper. Jolteon was last weekend's Regionals promo card, Eevee will be the Cities promo in December, Flareon is the Regionals promo for January (to warm you up), Umbreon is the States promo in March, Vaporeon is the Regionals promo in April (since it rains in spring, or at least used to), and Espeon is the Nationals promo card in June or July (because it's related to the sun, and it's hot in the summer or whatever). Their card images are below.

Update: It seems that only some items, like books and CDs, can be shipped internationally. Most other items cannot be.

Japan's Amazon.com has partnered with Gamefreak and Nintendo to open an official online Pokemon Store! The store features over 10,000 Pokemon items, some of which can be shipped internationally. Some of the items found in the store include plushes, figurines, TCG products and accessories (like card sleeves and deck boxes), everyday Pokemon accessories, school supplies, and even a life-size Pikachu doll. The store also stocks items that were previously exclusive to the Pokemon Center stores, meaning that now everyone has access to many of their items!

Japan had an online Pokemon Center store many years ago, as did America, but both websites eventually shut down. Now that Pokemon has partnered with a large third party company, perhaps their sales will be much more successful, especially since everyone can now ship the items directly to their door.
