Graphics chip company nVidia has won the rights to implant its Tegra "System-on-Chip" processor into the next Nintendo portable system, which both BSN and PC Perspective have confirmed with internal nVidia sources. This thus confirms that a successor to the DS line is in the works, which BSN states will see a release in late 2010. Note however that both Nintendo and nVidia have not made any official announcements, so this news is not 100% confirmed yet. The Tegra chip is used in Microsoft's HD Zune Player and in many smart phones. Its graphics and processing power are on par with the Wii and it offers far less battery consumption than the current DS setup, meaning the next system will feature a major boost in graphics and battery life. If the next Nintendo portable system is released in 2010, we could see the 5th generation Pokemon games as early as fall 2010, though more likely in 2011 since Pokemon games always come out at least the year after their respective systems are released.

Toxicroak, Zapdos G, and Gengar LV.X from Platinum: Arceus have been revealed; click the thumbnails below for larger images. All of the cards will be holo in real life. Most cards from the set will originate from the Japanese Advent of Arceus set, so if you want to know what's in our English set, check out the Japanese set! We will most likely have early scans of the English cards next week, my five midterms permitting.

Update: Added CoroCoro scan below. Famitsu magazine has dedicated half a page in this month's issue to the upcoming PokePark Wii - Pikachu's Great Adventure game, as you can see below (click the thumbnail for a much larger image). The official Japanese Pokemon websites will probably update with the same screenshots fand additional information sometime this week. We are also expecting scans from CoroCoro magazine to surface soon.

Update (10:30 AM): Added third paragraph below. The official Pokemon movie website has revealed that movie 13's location scouting took place in Holland, the western part of the Netherlands, and Belgium, a country right under it. The site uploaded a photo of Pokemon movie director Kunihiko Yuyama eating a Belgian waffle and another photo of a stuffed Pikachu sitting on the famous Skinny Bridge in Amsterdam, the largest city in the Netherlands. As we revealed in early July, movie 13 will feature Lugia and Ho-Oh; a trailer at the end of Arceus: Space-Time Conquered showed the two fighting. The Pokemon movie website has now uploaded that same teaser trailer, which you can watch by clicking here. Keep in mind that Lugia and Ho-Oh fighting does not mean they will in the movie; teaser trailers are not meant to depict any plot points (they "tease" you). For example, the Shaymin movie's teaser showed a giant Regigigas popping out of the ground. The only element of that trailer that turned out to be true was the fact that Regigigas was in the movie. Director Yuyama also posted a thank-you message for people who watched the Arceus movie and the entire Diamond and Pearl trilogy. He stated that he wanted to portray Arceus as nature and the Jewel of Life as the sun, and that since nature gives so much to us, we should consider how we are returning the favor. For movie 13, he revealed the setting is on the streets of the city and that the theme will focus on friendships between humans and Pokemon.

Update (7:00 PM): Updated the second paragraph to include another obvious scenario. Four new decks called "Battle Starter Decks" will be released on November 20th in Japan for 2,000 yen each, the same day the Leafeon vs. Metagross gift box comes out. Each deck will feature either Torterra, Magmortar, Blastoise, or Raichu as the main holo. There will be 30 cards in each deck; all of the Pokemon will be brand new. Like usual, we'll bring you translations and scans of the cards before or when the product is released. Depending on how many Pokemon are in each deck, two possibility could occur. If there are only 8-10 unique Pokemon in each deck, the new cards may be thrown into one of our future HeartGold and SoulSilver sets, perhaps the second one in May. If the majority of the decks are Pokemon cards, the new cards could be combined with cards from the Leafeon vs. Metagross gift box to make an entirely new English set. Assuming there are 20 Pokemon in each of the four decks, we'd be getting 80 new cards. Combined with who knows how many cards from the Leafeon vs. Metagross gift box, unreleased Japanese promos, and Basic Energy, there would definitely be enough cards to create an English set in this scenario. Since we'll only be one set behind Japan when Platinum: Arceus is released in a few weeks, it would make sense that Pokemon Card Laboratory would want to push us back a little. If these cards do make a new set, it is unknown if the set will be released this February, thus delaying LEGEND: HeartGold and SoulSilver to May, or if itself will be the May set. Still, all these new cards could just be thrown into future sets if there aren't too many of them. So many questions, no answers as of yet...

Filb.de has uncovered the first PokePark Wii - Pikachu's Great Adventure image, which appears to be a poster advertising the game. The image does not reveal much other than confirmation that the graphics are not the same as the WiiWare games and that the game is based off the temporary PokePark theme parks that were open in Japan in 2005 and Taiwan in 2006, since it uses their logo in the title. The game is also revealed to be developed by Creatures Inc., the company that owns one-third of the entire Pokemon franchise and that produces the TCG. Click the thumbnail below for a larger picture. We can now say with certainty, if it wasn't already obvious, that this is the same game Pokemon president Tsunekazu Ishihara was talking about in Famitsu magazine last month since Creatures Inc. is one of the in-house Pokemon companies. Why are they making a game related to the four-year old PokeParks, though? Everyone know Pokemon is all about cross-promotional advertising, and this is just speculation, but perhaps there is a possibility that this game is foreshadowing the reopening of new PokeParks somewhere. Who knows, though? It could just be paying homage to the parks too.

Players who go to Pokemon Centers in Japan from November 14th to January 11th will be able to download a new PokeWalker course called "Shopping." It will allow you to obtain a bunch of items, as listed below. It appears the course is exclusive to Pokemon Centers and will not be available over Wi-Fi. The page above did not announce what Pokemon would be available on the course, but hinted that some are Pokemon featured in the logos of the Pokemon Centers (like Pikachu and Meowth). Thanks go to Yaminokame for translating this news!

With every new set, the official Pokemon-Card website posts an anticipated FAQ to clear up any confusion that might occur with the set's release. For LEGEND: HeartGold and SoulSilver Collection, Bangiras has translated the entire document. The FAQ discusses the new LEGEND cards and other common questions, including confirmation that new Baby Pokemon no longer evolve. If you are a professor, you should read the FAQ so you are prepared for the set when it is released here in February. Now there will be less confusion come prereleases! In the future, Bangiras will be translating all FAQs and may even go back to old sets to translate theirs as well. To access the document in the future, there is a link to it on our LEGEND: HeartGold and SoulSilver Collection page. The set page is in the right menu under the TCG section's "Japanese Sets."

Players who participate in Worlds 2010 qualifiers in Japan starting in January will receive a shiny Eevee. Only players who bring HeartGold and SoulSilver, the only games allowed in the qualifiers, will be able to download it. The Lugia and Ho-Oh promos in the previous news story will also be given out to those who participate. Last year, players were able to download a shiny Milotic, which was later available in America. Chances are we will receive Eevee for our video game qualifiers here as well. Additionally, the rules for the qualifying tournaments have revealed that two Legendary Pokemon will be allowed per team. Legendary Pokemon allowed are Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina (both Formes). Banned Legendaries are event-only Pokemon, being Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. According to Mike Liesik, head of TPCi's Organized Play video game division, the rules for the American qualifying tournaments have not been formed yet and will not be released until the end of the year. Thus, the above rules will likely not apply to any country outside of Japan.
