Welp, just finished the movie! It was absolutely terrible - I would literally call it the worst Pokemon movie ever. But more on that later. Before the movie started a new commercial for Black and White aired. For a split second, a new Pokemon appeared in a battle - Minezumi. The blogger who posted its name earlier understandably messed it up because it flashed by so quickly. The advertisement also showed the first front sprite of Moguryuu, whose backsprite was seen on Oha Suta last week. After the movie, Reshiram and Zekrom fired attacks at each other and then an unnamed Pokemon appeared on screen and waved to the audience (as if to say "I'm sorry it sucked, but come next year please!"). Could it be a Legendary Pokemon? You can click the thumbnails below for larger images; thanks goes to Shutupnowordie666 for providing most of them. We'll post the movie summary later.

There is apparently an early demo of Black and White being showcased somewhere in Japan; one poster on 2ch has posted a few photos of it. One of his photos reveals a new bird Pokemon - Hatoopoo (ハトーポー), as you can see below (the name is a little blurry, so it is subject to change). This Pokemon may be the evolution of Mamepato. The same poster has also posted scans of a pamphlet from the demo, showing new battle footage of previously revealed Black and White Pokemon. We'll update with any new images as they are posted. Click the thumbnails below to enlarge them.

Tomorrow, The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark will premiere in theaters. As I have been saying all week, Heerosferret and I will be seeing the first public screening. We'll post a movie summary later in the day, but I'll post any news - such as new Pokemon being revealed - immediately after it is shown on the screen. If something goes wrong (such as being unable to get Internet), I'll post the news about 30 minutes after the movie ends. Tomorrow morning Japan's time is tonight in America's time, so be sure to check back then!

Update (5:00 AM) - Another poster on 2ch has identified the black / purple Pokemon that looks like a woman as Rankurusu (ランクルス), the green cell-shaped Pokemon as Gochiruzeru (ゴチルゼル), and the green Pokemon that resembles Larvitar as Kibago (キバゴ). However, we cannot confirm these names obviously. Stay tuned!

Update #2 (8:00 AM) - Whoops, missed posting one of the demo photos. It shows a new Pokemon, which is covered up by the photographer. Its name is partially blanked out but ends in "nezumi" (ネズミ), meaning it might be Nezumimi from the 13th movie advertisement. It knows Detect, Super Fang, Crunch and Hypnosis and is holding an Everstone.

The official Daisuki Club website had a Black and White image up earlier today (originally here) that has since been removed - it shows the Ken Sugimori artwork of the unnamed Pokemon that was standing between Iris and Jesse in the anime character sheet. Oddly, its color scheme doesn't quite resemble the coloring of its Bandai figure, though this is sometimes common with toys. This could either be because it is a prototype, the paint's coloring is off, the photographer's camera didn't capture the color very well, or because it is fake - at this time, we still cannot confirm the authenticity of the toys. However, they're likely real as we detailed in this post.

The official Pokemon Card website has revealed the six shiny cards that will be given out for the Legendary Pokemon Present Campaign, as you can see below; Bangiras has translated all of them. As a reminder, the campaign starts on July 27th: you send in proofs of purchase from two booster packs from Diamond and Pearl and up and 5,000 names will be drawn to win either a set of the first six shiny cards below or a set of all the Legendary Pokemon cards from the LEGEND-era (like Ho-OH LEGEND, Entei & Suicune LEGEND, etc.). They'll likely post the form you need to send in on July 27th, though obviously only people who live in Japan will be able to participate. The site also updated with the three Legendary Beast promo cards from the LEGEND Perfect Pack, which will be sold this Saturday when The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark is released in theaters. These shiny Pokemon will be featured in our Fall 2010 Tins.

And while we're discussing shiny Pokemon cards, the Shiny Pokemon Present Campaign that started at the end of April just ended a week ago (we translated the cards a while ago but have included them below for completeness). You could win either a set of a shiny Ho-Oh and Lugia or a set of a shiny Entei, Suicune, and Raikou. The Pokemon Card website just uploaded clear images of the campaign's cards, which we have included below so that you can see all of the recent shiny Pokemon in one place. Hopefully America will get all of these cards!

Finally, the website posted a new wallpaper to commemorate tomorrow's release of Clash at the Summit. The wallpaper features Celebi, Machamp, Electrode, Dialga, Palkia, Deoxys, and Rayquaza, all of whom are in the set.

Additional photos have cropped up of the Bandai toys posted the other day - this time we have Reshiram, Zekrom, and Mijumaru. Since the photos are obviously from the same person, are all of Pokemon toys (and not characters from other television shows or video games), and all match the style of Bandai's Pokemon Kids line, the green Pokemon toy from the other day may actually be the real deal. Of course, without confirmation, no one can say for sure at this point in time. Thanks goes to Heerosferret for finding these photos!

On Saturday The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark will play in theaters in Japan; at least two new Pokemon are in advertisements during the film. If one of them turns out to be the green Pokemon, we'll post the news right away. Both Heerosferret and I will be seeing the first public showing and I plan to run out of the theater to update with any news as soon as I see it on the screen. Stay tuned to PokeBeach!

With special thanks to Toho, we now have early scans of Clash at the Summit, which you can view below; click the thumbnails to enlarge them. The set will be released in Japan on Thursday. Check out the set's Alph Lithograph card! It is the only card from the LEGEND-era besides Legendary Pokemon that has card artwork outside of the artwork's border. And with this set, bye-bye LEGEND-era, hello Black and White and the fifth generation!

Update (7:30 AM) - As usual, Bangiras has swiftly translated all of the cards in the set, which you can view on our Clash at the Summit page. Thank you Bangiras for all of your continuing hard work over the years! (She did all these translations early in the morning while sick with a flu... impressive I say!) If there are any corrections that need to be made, we'll fix them later in the day. To discuss this set, check out this forum thread!

Filb.de has obtained a screenshot of a Black and White segment that aired on Oha Suta; the screenshot further confirms the authenticity of the anime character sheet we posted last week, showing the back of Koromori. No other new information was shown. Click the image below to enlarge it.

I originally posted the first two toy images below on our forums several hours ago but decided to make this a story now after other Pokemon from the same toy line popped up.

Photos of purportedly upcoming Bandai Pokemon toys have been floating around Japanese forum 2ch and among them appears to be a new, green Pokemon. Whether the toys are fake or the green "Pokemon" from a different animé or video game series remains to be seen at this point; the figures at least resemble the style of Bandai's Pokemon Kids line, perhaps a sign of their authenticity. The Pokemon in the second photo matches the Pokemon standing next to Iris in the character sheet posted the other day and Tsutaaja's figure seems to have an authentic copyright stamp on its tail, so unless some prankster out there is a skilled toymaker, the green Pokemon could be real as well by association. So far, the only evidence to suggest the green Pokemon's toy is fake or from an entirely different line is the fact its left eye's pupil is missing a white dot from the reflection of light, which its right eye has. We'll hopefully receive confirmation on the validity of the toys and the green "Pokemon" soon, so be sure to check back!

An advanced screening of The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark took place in Japan this weekend and one fan was able to see it just as I saw Arceus and the Jewel of Life's early screening last year (I would have tried to go but it was apparently super private this year). The fan comments on an advertisement for Black and White preceding the movie which shows one new Pokemon. He also provides details on what was shown in the preview for next year's movie, which will feature a new fifth generation Pokemon with big eyes and ears. Heerosferret has translated the blogger's comments below.

Both Heerosferret and I are going to the first public screening of the movie this Saturday (Friday in U.S. time). We'll post a movie summary a few hours after we see it. However, I will post any new Pokemon news immediately after the movie ends. Stay tuned!

For a moment you can see a battle scene with a new Pokemon called Nezumimi (portmanteau of "mouse" and "ear"). By the way, is that Chinchilla Pokemon [Chiramii] a rodent or a cat? I wouldn't say Nezumimi isn't of the same evolutionary line... but then again I only saw it for one instant so I can't say for sure. [In other words, he's saying the new Pokemon Nezumimi and the chincilla Pokemon Chiramii look similar, with Nezumimi possibly being a pre-evolution or evolution.] We also see Isshu's Ferris Wheel.

Nezumimi

[At the end of the movie, Reshiram and Zekrom are shown in the preview for next year's movie.] Reshiram's tail spouts fire like a jet engine and it flaps its wings to fly. Of course, Fire-type. Zekrom's tail is like Mobile Suit Gundam 00's, what is it called, solar furnace? And the inside glows blue-white, like it is generating electricity inside its body. Of course, Electric-type. At the end of the trailer, an unnamed Pokemon is waving to us. It has big eyes and pointed ears. It kind of looked like this drawing I made [to the right]. I think a part of the ears were orange, but I forgot how the body looked.

[The blogger also mention that the DSi will have a new "TV Telephone" feature where you can have a TV-phone conference with up to four people.]

On July 10th when The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark comes out in theaters, a new promo pack called "LEGEND Perfect Set" will be released for 1,200 yen. The pack features the shiny Entei, Suicune, and Raikou cards that will be in our fall English tins as well as one booster pack from each LEGEND set that has been released up until now (HeartGold Collection, SoulSilver Collection, Revived Legends, Clash at the Summit). The three cards are completely different from the shiny Legendary Beasts that were announced back in April for a raffle campaign, meaning there are two sets of shiny Legendary Beasts now.

LEGEND Perfect Set - shiny Entei, Suicune, Raikou

Starting on July 27th, a new "Legendary Pokemon Present Campaign" will begin where if you buy any LEGEND-series booster pack, you will be entered into a drawing to win either a set of brand-new Shiny Pokemon or a complete set of the Legendary Pokemon from the LEGEND-era. The first set will feature new Shiny Pokemon promos of Pokemon presented as Legendary Pokemon in Clash at the Summit: shiny Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, Deoxys, Dialga, and Palkia. So far, only Kyogre has been revealed, as you can see below. The second prize set will contain all the Legendary Pokemon from the LEGEND-series, also seen below; click the thumbnail of the sets to enlarge them. Talk about great prizes to win - you can get all of the Legendary Pokemon released over the past few sets in one swoop or new shiny Pokemon cards!
