Nana wouldn't want me to roll over and be depressed for the rest of my life... she'd want me to live my life and be happy.
Pokemon Festa is a large Pokemon convention in Japan and features many Pokemon-themed items and merchandise. In one of the photos presented on the deleted page, a plastic Pokemon-themed beverage cup was shown with several Pokemon, including one that appears to be the new flying forme of Shaymin (click the cropped photo to the right for a larger image; Shaymin is circled in the thumbnail). The Pokemon is similar to the description given by the printing company worker a few weeks ago; it looks like a "failed Eevee evolution" mixed in with the structure of a Delcatty. It is obviously the flying forme of Shaymin. It should be noted that this flying forme has white flowers instead of pink, red wings (apparently), and its color scheme resembles Abomasnow. What's with the "icy" / Christmas look? I suppose we will find out when the Pokemon debuts in Giratina and the Icy Sky's Bouquet, Shaymin on July 19th. Heerosferret, our new Japanese correspondent, will be attending the movie's premiere to provide us with a summary and media from the event.

Sorry for not updating this past weekend. My grandma Ann (we called her "nana") died on Saturday morning after five months of being in the hospital off and on, and I really did not feel like writing any updates. Even now I don't feel like updating, but I figured if I didn't, people would continue to complain. I may not update as much over the next month or so, especially since school is about to end in two weeks and I have finals and essays, so this is just a notice (and perhaps some advice). It's weird dealing with death. This is my first time having someone close to me die (since she was a second mother to me), and it really feels like you are in a dream and removed from reality. Have you ever had one of those dreams where someone in your family dies, and then you wake up and you're like "Thank God it wasn't real?" Well, it feels like being in one of those dreams, except you can't wake up. I am obviously awake, but the feeling of what has happened is just so crushing and depressing that it is unbearable. Most of us will probably have to go through a time like this, especially if you have parents who you are close with, and it is best to mentally prepare for it. Appreciate the time you spend with your family, because before you know it, it could all be gone in the blink of an eye. Live your lives, but also cherish who you have in them. It's just so short. Are you spending enough time with your loved ones? If not, perhaps you should give them a call or pay a memorable visit. Are you appreciating your parents and everything they have done for you? Are you letting them know it? When was the last time you told your parents you loved them, and I mean seriously saying it? What about your siblings and grandparents? You need to let everyone in your life know how much you love and need them. You never know when that last day will come. It could be tomorrow, it could be next week, it could be years from now, and worst of all, it could be unexpected and shocking. You do not want any regrets. I will love you forever my nana, and I know one day we will meet again in Heaven with God. You, mom, dad, and auntie E.C. taught me and my brothers everything we know about life, morality, living Christian lives, and loving one another, and if it weren't for you, people probably wouldn't even be reading this website right now. Thank you for everything you taught me and all of the love and care you suffocated us with. When our family and I see you eventually, I'll kiss you a million times to make up for the years we were separated between now and the day I die. You're my precious nana!

Redshark has been updated to version 2.11 because of a glitch that occurs when shuffling an attached card into a player's deck. The program also now features a game timer, which updates itself every five seconds. Click here to download the latest version's installer.

At the Toys R Us Darkrai event, participants were given instructions to go to http://pokemon.com/drkgift for a special gift. Enter "orasion" as the password when you visit the website. Doing so grants you access to two different sets of wallpaper, both of which feature Ash, Darkrai, Dialga, and Palkia. They're pretty cool!

Thanks to Krucifier, we have images of the invitation package going out to people who qualify for the World Championship this year (which will be held in Florida). Click the thumbnails below for larger pictures. All of the paper materials are components of the invitation, while the black rubber Worlds logo is a luggage tag.

A new nine-card promo set will be released for Giratina and the Bouquet from the Icy Sky, Shaymin, similar to the 10th anniversary promo set sold last year for Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai. The cards come in a portfolio, and will feature Shaymin, Dialga, Regigigas, Giratina, Magnezone, Piplup, Pikachu, Mamoswine, and Shieldon. The entire set costs 850 yen, or about eight dollars, and will be for sale in Japanese theaters starting July 17th (two days before the movie is out). On August 1st, it will be available to the general public in stores.

Dry news time... throw us a bone, someone! We have received a low-quality image of the Giratina vs. Dialga theme deck from Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky, which will be released on July 10th in Japan. Giratina is shown as a Psychic-type, and its 30-card theme deck features Dusknoir. Dialga is Metal (as usual), and its theme deck features Magnezone. The entire package comes with a Shaymin coin. I wonder what that circle in Giratina's Poke-Power is... it's too large to be an energy symbol, though it could just be a blob resulting from the image's poor quality. Update: Added Target sale information. Both Target and Best Buy have The Rise of Darkrai at discounted prices of $13.99 and $12.99, respectively (Target.com has it for $12.99, but the in-store price is a dollar more; Best Buy's price is only that low this week). The regular price, notwithstanding that the DVD has no special features at all, is $19.98. If you want to buy the DVD for a cheaper and fairer price, be sure to head to one of the two stores! The DVD was officially released today, though many stores had it earlier this month. Here is the summary of the movie from Best Buy's website. I spy three errors: This 10th movie in the Pokemon franchise finds Ash and his friends traveling through a Spanish village called Alamos Town, where they come across a scene of unexpected and mysterious devastation. The dark and unknown Pokemon named Darkai rules time, while Palkia rules space, and now that the two of them are staged for battle, the balance of space-time stands on the brink. Now, Alamos Town has been sucked into the Pokemons' universe, and if the town is destroyed, so is the world. ... And from Target's website. I spy no errors: The 10th Pokémon movie introduces Dialga and Palkia, two Legendary Pokémon from the "Diamond" and "Pearl" versions of the game. Ash, Brock, Dawn, and Pikachu visit the town of Alamos, which is dominated by two lofty towers that represent space and time. Alamos has been plagued by nightmares and supernatural events that the arrogant Baron Alberto blames on Darkrai, a powerful and elusive Pokémon. Alice, a gentle musician whose grandmother discovered Darkrai, disagrees. Her professor friend Tonio proves the escalating problems are caused by a clash between Dialga and Palkia. Unless the humans find a way to end this battle, the space-time fabric will tear and Alamos will be thrown into another dimension. Ash and Pikachu save the day, with some help from Dawn and Alice. The Rise of Darkrai (2007) is most the elaborate Pokémon feature to date: the CG effects range from the graceful towers to fireworks and energy storms. The drawn characters and computer-generated special effects are better integrated than in the previous features. The results are sure to delight Pokémon fans.

Heerosferret has written the second article to her "Pokemon Life in Japan" series, titled "Pokemon Life in Japan: Around the Corner." Her article shows the variety of Pokemon products one can find in only a five minute bike ride in Japan, and will make any fan jealous.

Update: Tor-Chic has sent us photos of an in-store Darkrai poster, the coupon, and the type chart (which has a hologram on the front of Dialga and Palkia; it seems quite handy). Click the thumbnails below for larger images. It should be noted that the $5.00-off-a-DS-game coupon can only be used the two days of the Darkrai event. Tor-Chic, a Toys R Us employee, has sent us information about the Darkrai event, which will occur next Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4:00 PM. There is almost no difference between the Toys R Us Darkrai and the Japanese one given away last year at the theatrical release of Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai, except that the Japanese one says it was obtained from "Pokemon Movie 07," while the Toys R Us one says it came from a "Pokemon Event."
It's just like the Darkrai promo (pictured right), which was also given out at the 10th movie in Japan. I am sure the Darkrai Premium Box, the 10th movie DVD, and other Darkrai / Pokemon merchandise will be set out for fans to beg their parents to buy. :D Darkrai is given away through Mystery Gift (named "The Rise of Darkrai"), like with Manaphy last September. Once you receive Darkrai, you can't get another through the Toys R Us Mystery Gift. You will have to claim it at the Mart, so you can soft-reset your game until you get a Darkrai that is to your satisfaction. The instructions given out at Toys R Us for downloading it also state that Darkrai cannot be traded over the Global Trade Station. In addition to the Darkrai download, you will receive a coupon for $5.00 off any DS game. An elemental type chart will also be distributed, which shows how each Pokemon type performs against other types. Tor-Chic was also told that because the Manaphy event was extremely successful across Toys R Us stores (despite the fact that players had access to one in Pokemon Ranger), Toys R Us decided to hold another Pokemon event (this event). Pokemon's popularity is still going, obviously!
