PurpleKecleon, a popular fan artist in the Pokemon community (and the fan artist for Meowth346's old Pokemon Forever website), has admitted to creating the Shaymin image; she drew it using the description from the printing company's blog the other day. Apparently, she posted it on a public Japanese image board, and then it made its way around the internet and eventually here. That was her finger in the photo, pointing to Shaymin. Her talent has lead many to believe her creations were of real Pokemon in the past, and her Ken Sugimori artwork is the best I have ever seen. I was so fooled by the quality of the image that I at first posted it was real, but then I made my post more cautionary after considering I did not know where it was from. I suppose I should be more cautious in the future from the get-go, especially with such talented fan artists in the Pokemon community. Props to her, though, for creating excitement among fans - most fakes aren't very good, and it is not often one of such quality makes its way around the community and is the point of discussion among everyone. No offense to her design, but I personally was dreading that this would be a new Pokemon - it looked too much like one of those "My Little Pony" dolls. She still did an awesome job in emulating Sugimori's style, though! Very impressive. Shaymin's sky form will probably be revealed in the June or July issue of CoroCoro, and when it is, we will hopefully have a *real* scan here! Giratina and the Bouquet from the Icy Sky: Shaymin will be out in July after all, so Shaymin's form should be revealed soon.

EDIT: Made the story a little more cautious since we still do not know what this is a photo of (CoroCoro? A poster? Fan art?). And all of those news stories may have finally proven themselves... Heerosferret, our Japanese contact, has found a photo of Shaymin's sky form - the Japanese text next to it specifically labels it as "sky form," and it appears to have wings comprised of leaves. We cannot confirm what this photo is of, such as the next issue of CoroCoro or a poster (since there is a finger in the bottom left pointing to Shaymin, making it seem like a poster), but what we do know is that Shaymin fits with the printing company worker's description from the other day, possibly meaning it is from the same printed material the employee saw. Shaymin is also drawn in Ken Sugimori's artwork style, and since his style is extremely hard to emulate to the degree of the below picture (in terms of shading, shadows, the colors of Shaymin, its overall style, and in making it in the first place without any references), it is probably safe to say that this is Shaymin's real sky form. Still, fan artists have been getting more talented lately, so you never know - it could be an elaborate hoax. We'll just have to wait and see. ![]() My little pony, my little pony...

Thanks to Heerosferret, our Japanese contact, we have spoilers for DP80, Yanma! The Capture Operation! Her opinion on the episode is that it is very original. She is sending me notes as the episode airs, and I am formalizing them below. At the beginning of the episode, a young boy knocks out a Yanma and begins to attempt a capture. Jessie, who is right above it, purposefully drops her Poke Ball and captures it, but then quickly sends it to Giovanni. Team Rocket begins to cry because they finally sent him a Pokemon (after... almost 550 episodes?). Giovanni has forgotten who Jessie and James are, remembers within a minute, and then sends the Poke Ball back to them. They think he is sending them a super rare Pokemon as a prize for making a capture, like a Lucario or a Cranidos, but it is just Yanma. Yanma sits on James' head, and Jessie announces she will train it as her own Pokemon since the Boss rejected it. She sends it into battle against the boy who originally knocked it out, and it immediately begins to evolve into Yanmega (it knows AncientPower, a requirement for Yanma to evolve into Yanmega). Everyone is confused as to how it learned the move, but it turns out Giovanni taught it to Yanma before sending it back to Jessie. They begin to battle, and Team Rocket eventually blasts off. They hug their new Yanmega as they fly into the air, meaning Jessie now has a brand new Pokemon. The Trainer of the Day decides to capture a different Yanma, and the episode concludes. The next episode preview for The Scorching Chimchar! shows Chimchar going ballistic. Ash and crew are battling Paul, and suddenly Chimchar attacks everything and is screaming. It looks like a "demon," according to Heerosferret - she comments, "This is a kid's show? Its going crazy!" Chimchar is obviously upset with its previous trainer, to put it mildly.

Shaymin's sky form has been confirmed to exist via a printing company employee in Japan, who (we assume) saw it on a poster in his office. On his blog, he describes what he saw (only the parts relevant to Shaymin are translated below): I was absent-minded at the office and carelessly glanced upon the sky form of Shaymin. / When I saw it, it was as shocking to me as when I first saw that Darkrai had legs. Its eyes are like Girafarig's / it almost looks like a failed Eevee evolution, though it still looks good / it sort of looks like Delcatty too. He also says that the land form of Shaymin is the regular Shaymin, meaning the trademarks last month for a "land form" and "sky form" Pokemon applied to Shaymin. Thanks go to Unripe Ume Fruits (the employees' blog) via AAPF (who found the blog) via Vincent (for translating some of the original blog post) for this news story's information.

The logo for Legends Awakened has been revealed, in addition to some new information. The set will feature two theme decks named Metal Surge and Bombardment, one of which will feature Heatran (the other deck's featured Pokemon is unknown, though it will probably be Regigigas). The product description for the set can be read below: Deep in the far reaches, legends awaken. Become a legend in your own time when you play the Pokemon TCG: Diamond & Pearl — Legends Awakened expansion! Powerful Legendary Pokémon like Regigigas and Heatran, more amazing Pokemon LV.X than ever before, and a host of other game-changing Pokemon will make your battles even more epic. And with new Trainer and Supporter cards, you will awaken the legend within yourself. The legends are rising to the challenge — will you rise with them?" ZOMGGGG, I am gonna becum a legund by playing this set!!1!! Seriously, these set descriptions need more creativity. Legends Awakened will primarily contain cards from Japan's DP5: Cry of the Mysterious, Temple of Anger, and will be released on August 20th in America.

The Pokemon blog All About Pokemon Figures has uncovered a gum toy's product image that shows a covered-up Pokemon (pictured right; click for a larger version). Last month, a Pokemon puzzle product did the same thing. What exactly are these products hiding, since Shaymin, Giratina, and Giratina's Origin Form are on both? The only current speculation of a new Pokemon form is centered around Shaymin having a sky form, yet the product images of today and last month do not support this, since the "new Pokemon" is either running or on the ground with Pikachu and crew. Could it be a new Pokemon altogether? Perhaps Shaymin has landed? There are too many unanswered questions at this point in time regarding a new Pokemon or a new form, so nothing is completely known for sure yet. Hopefully, if there is something new, it will be revealed within the next month or so since the 11th movie will be in theaters in July.

Shakespeare, our master card scanner, has scanned Diamond and Pearl Darkrai promo #24 (and its jumbo-sized version, which is also a holo, but more of a "shiny" holo than a "sparkling" holo with circles). Click the thumbnails below for larger images. Both promos are available in the Darkrai Premium Box, which costs around $20.00.

Our brand new Japanese correspondent, Heerosferret (I have no idea what that means), is going to start writing articles about Pokemon life in Japan. She moved from America to Japan a few years ago and attends a Japanese university. She has been a Pokemon fan since it first came out and has remained one to this day. Her first article is named "Pokemon Life in Japan," and is a general introduction to both herself and how popular Pokemon actually is in Japan. It's an interesting read for anyone!

A lesson to all of you who will be going to college or a university: Choose a major and field YOU want, or you'll be like a lot of students I know who are unhappy and suffering. I have to "affiliate" with a major soon and I'm freaking out (explaining the slight lack of updates today... gotta do a lot of "soul searching"). I've narrowed it down to: movie screenwriter (like that'll ever happen), lawyer (I'm a loud mouth in real life and have been involved in Speech and Debate forever), psychologist (hehe... mess with people's minds), and journalist (PokeBeach). Unfortunately, most other kids I know are picking Bio-related fields because they have been brainwashed into believing they should by their parents (or they are forcing them to). These people aren't happy with what they are doing, and some regret wasting a whole year on taking classes for the majors their parents are making them shoot for. It's your future and your passions, not your parent's (and of course, this argument is only limited to college majors, not anything else - you should always listen to your parents, since they are wiser than you and usually know what's best). Pick something you can see yourself going into after college, and a field that will make you happy. This story did come out of nowhere, but I have seen and heard so many kids complaining about what they are doing because of their parent's decisions that I think it is important someone tells some of you when you are young that it is your decision, not their's. ;)
