I've updated SteveP's deck list program with Flashfire and the latest XY promos. The cards aren't legal for tournaments until the set's May 7th release date, but at least now the program will be ready for you when you need it! Make sure you clear your cache before accessing the program or it will use the old data file stored in your browser.

Pokemon Art Academy has been announced for the 3DS. The game teaches you how to draw Pokemon through various lessons, starting with easy Pokemon designs and eventually leading to harder ones where you have to draw more complicated Pokemon. You can of course share your artwork on Miiverse. No international release has been announced yet, but the game will be available at stores and for download in Japan on June 19th for 3,619 yen.

The new Ken Sugimori art book will be released a few weeks before this game.

Update (11:00 PM) - Long day on a film shoot, but all Flashfire scans are now up! Thank you to those of you who sent in your scans!

Since I'm leaving for a remote film shoot with no Internet access and the first prereleases have already concluded in Singapore, we're now posting our 95+ Flashfire scans! Thanks goes to Torterra Chips, ZardGod, Anyone4Buttons, Benjamin F., and Aaron R. for the scans below! The set is our equivalent of Japan's Wild Blaze. As expected, there are no surprises - the set is exactly what we thought it would be.

To find a prerelease near you, check out the event locator on Pokemon's website. The tournaments are this weekend and next, so don't miss out! How can you NOT want to pick up all these Charizard cards early?

To discuss this set, check out this thread on our forums!

Update (Friday, 12 PM) - McDonalds has announced the promotion on their website and has revealed pictures of the toys, which are called "battle launchers." The promotion will start May 23rd and lasts until June 12th. The picture of the toys is below.

In May and June or so, McDonalds in the U.S. will be packaging Pokemon toys and TCG cards in its Happy Meals once again. Every Happy Meal will come with a Pokemon toy and one of 12 TCG cards. Toys confirmed so far are Pikachu, Xerneas, Yveltal, Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie.

Going by France's recent McDonalds promotion, we will probably get English versions of the reprinted cards below, which all come from the Kalos Starter Set and XY. Most McDonalds will sell the toy / card for $1.50 if you don't want to order their crap heart disease salt and grease food. Eh hem. Thanks goes to one of our forum staff members for this news who is a manager at McDonalds (but wishes to remain anonymous) and CartasZone for the French scans!

Update (9:45 PM) - Added a "Foul Play Coin" promo below. Thanks goes to Viper.Fox for the heads up!

Like Greninja-EX over the past two months, players who attend Gym Challenge tournaments in Japan between May and July will receive a special 12-card promo pack that comes with a Krookodile-EX promo and a new Trainer promo called Foul Play Coin. The other 10 promos have not been revealed yet. The Krookodile image below is too low-quality to translate, but we'll probably see a larger image in a few days. Thanks goes to Franco T. for the translation!

Krookodile-EX Promo Foul Play Coin Promo

Foul Play Coin - Trainer
Item

Pokemon Tool: Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

Once during your turn, after you flip any coins for an attack on the Pokemon this card is attached to, you may ignore all effects of those coin flips and begin flipping those coins again. You can only use an effect from a card that re-flips coins once per turn.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Play Pokemon Event

Pokemon.com has officially announced the video game Premiere Challenge events we first reported about a month ago. The events will begin this weekend and last until the end of June.

Announcing Premier Challenges, a new way for Pokémon video game players to compete!

The Play! Pokémon program is excited to announce Premier Challenges, a new event series being hosted at various locations throughout North America, April 21 – June 23. Premier Challenges are a new way for you to battle in more fun, organized events—as well as earn Championship Points to bring you one step closer to an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships!

The Premier Challenges will feature battles using Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, and follow the same format as the 2014 Pokémon Video Game World Championships. Read the Pokémon Tournament rules for complete details.

Premier Challenges will take place primarily where Pokémon League events are currently held. However, only a portion of League sites will host Premier Challenges during this first event period. Use the Play! Pokémon event locator to find a Premier Challenge near you.

An extended trailer for The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie was just posted to Pokemon's YouTube channel, as you can see below. It reveals several new scenes, though most of them are likely created just for the trailer. It also reveals that Xerneas can speak telepathically (with a female voice, I think).
