PokemonCenter.com Grand Opening

After a month of offering a limited number of products for purchase, PokemonCenter.com has fully opened its virtual doors. The website features plushes, apparel, accessories, Pokemon games, and Pokemon TCG products for shipping to all across the United States. The site is currently experiencing technical difficulties like when it first opened last month, so you will need to continuously refresh each page to view anything.

The website also (unintentionally?) revealed the Gengar booster pack from Phantom Forces, which uses the set artwork we posted last week.

Both cards were released in Japan within promo booster packs, which were given out at tournaments between February and April of this year. The blisters also come with a Xerneas coin. Thanks goes to Andreas B. for the photos!

We've been missing three scans since we first revealed the majority of the set two weeks ago, but we now have all Furious Fists scans!

Thanks goes to Brancato G., Brent O., Chris H., Dennis S., Iriis V., Ju@nm, Lisa D., OmniPoke, Phillip B, and Thomas D. for sending in their scans when the set was released early in Europe via the Mega Charizard Boxes. Shakespeare, our master card scanner, will upload high quality scans of the cards after the set is officially released on August 13th.

In the meantime, Furious Fists prereleases take place this weekend and next weekend! You can search for a prerelease event on Pokemon.com.

An additional Pokemon Symphonic performance will take place in Washington D.C. on Saturday, August 16th, at 8:00 PM. This is exactly one day after the previously announced performance. If you're going to Worlds and can't make it to the 8:00 PM Friday showing, then you can order tickets to the Saturday event here. Tickets run from $50 to $83 or so. If you're going to the Friday showing, come say hi to me! :D

Pokemon has announced a new Wi-Fi distribution in National Geographic magazine! From August 13th to September 17th, players can download either Heracross or Pinsir to their X and Y games. Then from August 18th to August 31st, players can obtain a serial code from Gamestop to download the associated Pinsirite or Heracronite Mega Stones to their games.

No word yet on when Diancie will receive its distribution, but according to a recent press release, Gamestop will also be hosting a distribution for it in the fall (most likely around the release of OR/AS). Thanks goes to Serperior198 for this news!

Update (12:00 PM, Friday) - Pokemon.com has announced that both Pokemon come at Level 50 with Adamant natures. Pinsir and its Mega Stone can only download to Pokemon Y and it comes with X-Scissor, Earthquake, Stone Edge, and Return while Heracross and its Mega Stone can only download to Pokemon X and it knows Bullet Seed, Pin Missile, Close Combat, and Megahorn.

Phantom Forces

We have received word that America's November set will be named Phantom Forces, which is of course Japan's Phantom Gate set (of which we know very little about). But with the following English set information, we now know more about the Japanese set!

Phantom Forces hits store shelves on November 5th and will will feature over 110 cards. There will be six Pokemon-EX in the set and two Mega Evolution Pokemon: M Manectric-EX, M Gengar-EX, Manectric-EX, Gengar-EX, and Aegislash-EX (from the Hyper Metal Chain deck) are all confirmed. Dialga-EX from the same deck will likely be in the set too.

A new mechanic being introduced in the set are "Spirit Link" cards, which will "push the limits of Mega Evolution." No further information is known about these Spirit Link cards yet, but we'll bring it to you as soon as we hear it!

To discuss this set, check out this news story's forum thread.
