Original “Super Smash Brothers” Coming to Virtual Console

Super Smash Brothers is going to be released in Japan on the Wii’s Virtual Console sometime this January. It is the very first game of the Super Smash Brothers series, the latest incarnation being Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The game will cost 1,200 Wii points ($12).

There is no word yet on if or when it will be released in America. The Japanese re-release comes almost 10 years after its original Nintendo 64 release of January 21st, 1999, so perhaps America will get the game in April (since it was released here April 26th, 1999).
