New “The Advent of Arceus” Tid-Bits

As we reported earlier this month, the next Japanese set will be named The Advent of Arceus and goes on sale in Japan on July 8th. Pending an official update on the official Pokemon Card website either this week or next, new information has been released. Heerosferret has translated it below.

  • In the main set, there will be five different Arceus, each a different type. There will also be an Arceus LV.X. That’s a total of six Arceus in the main set. They will all have a special holographic treatment.
  • The main set will have a total of 90 cards.
  • Between the set’s two 60-card theme decks and the main set, there are a total of 12 Arceus cards, including LV.X’s. That means that each theme deck will come with three Arceus cards each, one of which is a LV.X.
  • Therefore, there are three Arceus LV.X and nine regular Arceus. The nine will probably be one of each type (Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Fighting, Metal, Darkness, Colorless). We know that the two Arceus LV.X in the theme decks are Colorless, so the Arceus LV.X in the set will also probably be Colorless as well.
