Dream World Kanto Starters to Feature Different Abilities
A special magazine named Pokemon Pia will be released on September 10th in Japan and will feature behind-the-scenes information about the production of Black and White. Revealed in its product description is that each magazine will come with a password for encountering either Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in the Dream World. When the Pokemon are brought back to Black and White and captured, you will discover that they have different abilities than the usual Overgrow, Blaze, and Torrent; at this time we do not know which, but considering Dream World Vaporeon has Hydration and Dream Wolrd Glaceon has Ice Body, the new abilities may have something to do with their elements.
The magazine itself contains interviews and discussions with Junichi Masuda, Ken Sugimori, Game Freak’s graphic designers, The Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara, and AKB48’s Rie Kitahara and Rino Sashihara (a popular Japanese band), “who love Pokemon.” According to the product description, “It’ll be filled with secret stories about the making of these games! Of course we’ll introduce all the old games, the anime, and movies – everything about Pokemon. From children to adults, this is a magazine that every generation can enjoy.” Additionally, each magazine comes with a set of Pikachu earphones. Pokemon Pia is a one-off issue, 64 pages, and will cost 1260 yen.
