‘Next Destinies’ Booster Packs, Theme Decks, and Blister Pack Revealed!
Thanks to our friends at PokeCollection, we now have early images of Next Destinies‘ booster packs, theme decks, and blister packs; click the thumbnails below for larger images. As you can see, the booster packs feature Reshiram, Zekrom, Mewtwo, and Regigigas. I wonder why they decided to go with Reshiram and Zekrom on the packs again and chose Regigigas out of all the Pokemon-EX in the set when Kyogre, Groudon, and Kyurem seem so much more deserving (and when Reshiram and Zekrom are also featured in the theme decks). I wonder if their EX’s will be held back… if there is going to be a Ruby and Sapphire remake next year or a “Pokemon Gray,” this would definitely make sense. This is just my wild speculation, of course!
The theme decks feature the Reshiram and Zekrom from the Thundurus vs. Tornadus Gift Set, which themselves are reprints from the first Black & White set but with alternate artwork. Outside of reprint sets like Legendary Collection, these will be the first second theme decks to feature reprinted cards, which is a bit odd considering there are so many other holos and rares they could have used instead (Great Encounters was the first). In regards to the blister pack, it will feature either a Beartic line or a Zoroark line. The Cubchoo and Beartic shown below are also reprints, which means Zorua and Zoroark by extension are as well (unless the two below are just placeholders for the real cards, though I doubt it). This set seems weird so far.
