Resuming ‘Black 2’ and ‘White 2’ Pre-Release Coverage
Black 2 and White 2 will be released in Japan in less than a day, but many fans on Japanese’s 2ch board have received their copies early. As such, we are continuing to collect and translate the information they reveal below. Because the information comes from multiple players, and they sometimes are not very clear, there is a possibility some of the information below is not completely accurate. But when our copies arrive, we’ll begin our own coverage.
- (Newest points are on the top, oldest are on the bottom. Read down to up.)
- We now have the sprites for all the TRAINERS in the games. Ghetsis has a sword! (I think.) Thanks again to Magical, Zhorken, and Eevee for extracting them.
- This is the music for when you challenge the E4 champs in the World Tournament. The last piece of music is when you challenge E4 Champion Iris during the regular storyline.
- You’ll love this one. Here’s the World Tournament’s Gym Leader themes for each region! E4 is coming next.
- Thanks to the work of Magical, Zhorken, and Eevee, we now have the sprites for all the Pokemon in the games. Note that all of the weird sprites at the end are for Pokewood – they’re not new Pokemon, just costumes, props, mechas, and icons for Pokewood.
- Confirmed: No new unexpected Pokemon formes in the rom data. Just Tornadus Therian Forme, Thundurus Therian Forme, Landorus Therian Forme, Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Keldeo Resolute Form.
- More music: VS Team Plasma, VS Ghetsis, VS Black Kyurem, VS White Kyurem, VS Champion. More is coming.
- Here’s some music we ripped: Title music, VS Trainer, VS Wild Pokemon, VS Gym Leader, VS N, VS Regis. More is coming.
- On our initial pass, there doesn’t appear to be any other Pokemon formes in the rom data. No new Genesect formes, Kyurem God forme, etc. We’re still looking though.
- We’re currently analyzing the rom data. Stats for the new formes are as follows: Tornadus (HP 79/Atk 100/Def 80/SAtk 110/SDef 90/Spd 121), Thundurus (79/105/70/145/80/101), Landorus (89/145/90/105/80/91), Black Kyurem (125/170/100/120/90/95), White Kyurem (125/120/90/170/100/95), and Keldeo’s Resolute Form (91/72/90/129/90/108). We’re also ripping some of the music and will be uploading it within the hour.
- The rom for the games has leaked. However, we have decided that we are going to wait for our real copies to arrive, take our time playing through the game, and do more in-depth coverage rather than just speed through the game. This is simply because most of the game has already been spoiled these past few days and most of the major surprises are already known. We’ll continue to update this story with anything noteworthy of course, especially since the Japanese are so far ahead in their copies, so please continue to check back!
- The item that creates Black Kyurem and White Kyurem is called the Gene Wedge.
- Mesprit is encountered at Level 65 at the top of Celestial Tower.
- Pictures of the Abyssal Ruins.
- The World Tournament has different groups of Trainers that you must beat before you can unlock the next set. First, you must defeat the Unova Gym Leaders. Once you do, you have access to the Gym Leaders from the other regions. Once you defeat them, you can challenge the World Leaders. After that, you can participate in the Championship Tournament.
- Lance uses Dragonite, Flygon, and Kingdra, Cynthia uses Garchomp, Roserade, and Togekiss, and Alder uses Volcarona, Braviary, and Conkeldurr. It seems that perhaps each character has six Pokemon and that only three are used for each battle, as seen with Alder’s second team here.
- You will also be able to battle the E4 champions of the past. Gary/Green/Blue uses Machamp, Arcanine, and Exeggutor, Steven Stone uses Metagross, Archeops, and Excadrill, and Alder uses Volcarona, Chandelure, and Reuniclus.
- He gives you a shiny Gible after you defeat him.
- In Challenge Mode, his Pokemon are at Level 85.
- He has a Level 80 Latios, Level 80 Garchomp, and Level 80 Volcarona.
- Here’s Banjirou, Alder’s grandson. Creepy kid. You battle him after you defeat all the Trainers in Black City’s skyscraper. He has the same battle music as his grandpa.
- Entei is owned by a Trainer in either the World Tournament or Black Skyscraper (we’re not sure which).
- Roxanne, the first Gym Leader in Ruby and Sapphire, is confirmed to be one of the participants. She has Probopass, Aggron, and one other Pokemon.
- The World Tournament has different tournament modes. The “Unova Leaders” mode allows you to battle Unova Gym Leaders with Level 50 Pokemon. The “Driftveil Tournament” mode only allows Pokemon at Level 25. “Rental Tournament” randomly selected Pokemon for you to use. “Mix Tournament” allows Level 50 Pokemon and you can switch your own Pokemon with your opponent’s before each battle. “Rental Master” allows for higher-leveled Pokemon. “Type Master” seems to imply the use of specific types.
- Japanese players are reporting that Gym Leaders from all regions, including those from Unova, can be battled in the World Tournament. So far, we know Drayden has a Haxorus, Altaria, and Druddigon; Brycen has Cryogonal, Dewgong, and Vanilluxe; and Shizui uses Jellicent, Mantine, and Wailord. You earn 1BP for defeating Unova’s Gym Leaders and 2BP for defeating Kanto’s.
