Japan’s March Set: BW9 ‘Megalo-Cannon’ Featuring Genesect!

Japan’s next set will be named BW9 Megalo-Cannon and will be released on March 15th! Genesect will be featured as a Pokemon-EX. The set will feature 76 cards, excluding any secret rares. “Megalo” is a prefix that means “large, great, or exaggerated,” referencing Genesect’s cannon, so perhaps its four Drives will somehow be featured in the set as well. This is quite earlier than anyone thought Genesect would be featured in the card game, as movie-related Pokemon have always debuted in the TCG’s July set. Perhaps Genesect is going to be more heavily featured in the TV show’s N arc this January, thus warranting an earlier TCG release.

On the same day BW9 is released, a new deck will hit store shelves named “Combo Deck 60 Blastoise + Kyurem-EX.” It will cost 1,680 yen and will obviously feature the two pictured Pokemon in a 60 card deck. No other details are known about it at this time.
