New ‘Pokemon: The Origin’ Special Based On ‘Red’ and ‘Green’

A new Pokemon anime special based on Pokemon Red and Green will air in Japan on October 2nd. It is called Pokemon: The Origin and will star Red, who picks Charmander as his Starter Pokemon. He faces off against his rival, Green, and also battles Gym Leader Brock. Professor Oak, Lance, and Team Rocket will also appear in the special. Although the special is a one-time deal, it may actually span a couple of episodes, though right now we don’t know.
