50 Pokken Demo Photos: Character Variations, Attacks, Poses, Aquarium Stage
The Pokken Tournament demos are currently taking place in Japan and our Twitter friend ErikBarkas has taken photos of his gameplay!
Like in Smash Bros., every Pokemon has another “skin” you can use to help differentiate you from the same opponent (such as in 2-player mode). Lucario and Gardevoir are both available in red colors, Suicune in white, and Pikachu is available with blue pants (the red Machamp you see below is not an alternate color – Machamp glows red when it uses its Burst Attack). The Pokemon also have poses you can trigger, again like in Smash Bros..
Lucario / Standard Fighting Style / A: Aura Sphere, Forward + AA: Bone Rush, Back + A: Force Palm, Up + A: Extreme Speed
Pikachu / Standard Fighting Style / A: Thunderbolt, Forward + A: Nuzzle, Back + A: Electro Ball, A in in mid-air: Thunder (use R to cancel it)
Suicune / Standard Fighting Style / A: Aurora Beam, Forward + A: Hydro Pump, Back + A: Mirror Coat, A in mid-air: Blizzard
Machamp / Power Fighting Style / A: Beat Up, A (after using Beat Up): Cross Chop, Forward + A: Submission, Down + A: Close Combat
Gardevoir / Technic Fighting Style / A: Psyshock, Forward + A: Assist Power, Back + AX: Calm Mind and Psychic, A in mid-air: Magical Leaf
More Support Pokemon and Stages
Eevee and Froagadier have been confirmed as Support Pokemon. Eevee knows Helping Hand, temporarily increasing your attack damage and restoring some of your health. Frogadier can use Water Pulse. Again, the function of the Support Pokemon are similar to Poke Ball Pokemon in Smash Bros.
An underwater aquarium stage was also confirmed. You can see Lugia and other Water Pokemon behind giant panes of glass in the ocean. Previous stages confirmed are Chrom Town (from the very first trailer) and Phos Volcano (from last week’s stream).
