Pokemon Boutique Shop Opening in L.A. in June and July

Pokemon.com has announced that a temporary Pokemon Boutique shop is opening in Los Angeles between June 6th and July 5th. It will carry “fashionable” Pokemon products and seems to be aimed toward girls.

Could this shop be a test-run for something in the future, or is it only meant to be a one-off thing? Perhaps they’re trying to test if they can market more Pokemon merchandise toward girls? The date the shop closes is the last day of Anime Expo, so maybe they’re trying to capture that crowd as well. I guess I’ll have to go opening night to find out what the deal is since it’s just 20 minutes away.

The Pokémon Boutique opens June 6 with lots of exciting opening-night activities! There will be character photo opportunities, appearances by featured designers, celebrity DJ Amy Pham, nail artists, and more. The event runs from 6–10 p.m. on June 6, and all Pokémon fans are invited!
