XY8 Haunter, Rainbow Energy

The official Japanese Pokemon Twitter account has revealed Rainbow Energy will be reprinted in XY8 Blue Impact.

Stage 1 – Evolves from Gastly

Ability: Gothic Fear
Once during your turn (before your attack), when you play this card from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokemon, you may use this Ability. Both Active Pokemon are now Confused.

[P][C] Poison Circle: Your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Poisoned. During your opponent’s next turn, the Defending Pokemon can’t retreat.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 1

Because Gastly and Haunter both focus on damage counters instead of actual attack damage, I get the feeling Gengar is going to have one of those “knock them out if they have damage counters on them” attacks. Or maybe it’ll spew damage counters all over your opponent’s Pokemon. We’ll hopefully find out soon!
