Aegislash from ‘Rage of the Broken Sky!’

The official Japanese Pokemon Twitter account has revealed Aegislash from Rage of the Broken Sky following the reveals of Honedge and Doublade over the past two days. Thanks goes to Sean T. and Jake C. for the translation!

Aegislash – Psychic – HP140
Stage 2 – Evolves from Doublade

[C][C][C] Sword Pain: Place damage counters on each of your opponent’s Pokemon equal to the number of damage counters already on them.

[P][P][C][C] Megaton Slash: 100 damage. Choose 2 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. This attack does 10 damage to each of them. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance when damaging the Bench.)

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 3

This is the first time there has been an attack in the TCG that doubles all of your opponent’s Pokemon’s damage counters. Pretty cool that after almost 20 years, Pokemon Card Laboratory can still think up new effects. Hopefully this Aegislash is foreshadowing PCL stepping up the Stage 2 game. Enough with the Big Basic Pokemon! Bring back rewarding Evolutions!
