As I posted before, TPCi is now allowing players 18 and above to accept cash payouts instead of scholarships. In lieu of this, Pokemon.com has now announced how much money players can win for this year’s U.S. Nationals and Worlds.
If you’re 18 or older and finish in the Top 8, you can choose either a cash award or a scholarship of the same amount, while top finishers in 9th place or lower will receive a cash award. Those under 18 who finish in the Top 8 can choose either a scholarship or a Travel Certificate of the same amount, while top finishers in 9th place or lower will receive a Travel Certificate.
