Arceus, Volcanion from CP5; More Info!
The official Pokemon Card website has revealed that the full art Arceus from our Mythical Pokemon Collections will also be included in CP5 as a regular art card. The same will apply to Volcanion – the full art version we saw the other day will also have a regular art version (as you can see below). The site mentions some cards will have two versions, so we can assume Magearna and the other Mythical Pokemon from our Mythical Pokemon Collections will also have them.
Our Zygarde prerelease promo was also revealed for Japan. However, it won’t be included in CP5 — it’ll be a promo in July 16th’s “Zygarde Special Set,” which is a blister pack that also comes with a holo Zygarde 10% forme and two XY11 booster packs.
CP5 is is a 36-card mini-set that will be released in Japan on July 16th. All Pokemon in the set will be Legendary or Mythical Pokemon, and all cards will be holo.
We can now account for most of the cards in the set. There’s 11 Mythical Pokemon from our Mythical Pokemon Collections in America, plus Volcanion and Magearna, which could mean that’s potentially 26 cards right there if each of them has a regular art version. Then we have Rayquaza-EX, Hoopa-EX, and Latios-EX from the Power Beyond Tins and Zygarde-EX, shiny Xerneas-EX, and shiny Yveltal-EX from the Shiny Kalos Tins. That’s now a potential total of 33 cards, leaving three more to the imagination.
How might those 13 regular art cards be released in America? Well, they could make them a sub-set and stick them into a reprint set to end the XY era like with Call of Legends and Legendary Treasures. We still don’t know if our next set will be a reprint set or if it’ll be the first Sun and Moon set, but history tells us it’s more likely to be the former. And now we have potential candidates for the sub-set portion… bleh.
