Scizor-GX and Scyther from ‘Champion Road!’

Two “new” cards have been revealed from Champion Road! As expected, Scizor-GX is a spiritual reprint of Scizor ex from EX Unseen Forces with updated attacks and new artwork in the same pose as the original card. Like the cards from Evolutions, Scyther is reprinted with the exact same artwork as Scyther from EX Unseen Forces and also with updated stats and attacks.

Scizor-GX – Metal – HP210
Stage 1 – Evolves from Scyther

Ability: Danger Perception
As long as this Pokemon’s remaining HP is 100 or less, this Pokemon’s attacks do 80 more damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

[M][C] Steel Wing: 80 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, any damage done this Pokemon by attacks is reduced by 30.

[C][C][C] Cross-Cut GX: 100 damage. If your opponent’s Active Pokemon is an Evolved Pokemon, this attack does 100 more damage. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 1

Scyther – Grass – HP70
Basic Pokemon

[C] Twin Play: Search your deck for up to 2 Scyther and play them onto your Bench. Then, shuffle your deck.

[C][C] Agility: 20 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokemon during your opponent’s next turn.

Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Champion Road will hit store shelves in Japan on May 3rd and will then be integrated into our Celestial Storm set in August.

As posted in previous news stories, the set is going to include spiritual reprints of cards from the EX Ruby & Sapphire era, like Articuno-GX and Salamence-GX, and likely also new GX versions of Blaziken ex, Mr. Mime ex, Banette ex, Feraligatr ex, and Electrode ex.
