Gengar & Mimikyu-GX in SM9 ‘Tag Bolt!’

The second Tag Team GX will presumably be Gengar & Mimikyu-GX!

A pack of 64 card sleeves featuring Gengar and Mimikyu will be released in Japan on December 7th, the same day as SM9 Tag Bolt. The sleeves are officially named “Gengar & Mimikyu TAG TEAM GX.” They will retail for 980 yen.

Card sleeves often hint at Pokemon-GX that will be in a set — and this one specifically names the card!

Gengar & Mimikyu-GX means the Tag Team cards won’t be restricted to Pokemon of the same stage, as Gengar is a Stage 2 Pokemon and Mimikyu is a Basic Pokemon.

Tag Team Pokemon-GX feature two Pokemon of the same type on one card. They give up three Prize cards, but feature more HP and stronger attacks. Presumably their attacks increase in damage when more Energy are attached to them — though we’re not sure if this will apply to all of them since we only have Pikachu & Zekrom-GX to go off currently.

We will get our first Tag Team GX in our SM9 February set, which is currently unnamed. It will feature over 181 cards.
