Eevee & Snorlax-GX Revealed in Full, More Info About Tag Team Cards!
A clear image of Eevee & Snorlax-GX has now been revealed in CoroCoro magazine!
The card will be part of Japan’s SM9 Tag Bolt set in December. The set will then be combined into our Team Up set in February.
Eevee & Snorlax-GX – Colorless – HP270
Basic Pokemon (TAG TEAM)[C] Cheer On: Attach an Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Pokemon.
[C][C][C][C] Dump Press: 120+ damage. If your opponent’s Active Pokemon is an Evolution Pokemon, this attack does 120 more damage.
[C][C][C][C]+ Megaton Frenzy GX: 210 damage. If this Pokemon has at least 1 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), draw cards until you have 10 cards in your hand. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)
When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.
Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4
This is the first TAG TEAM revealed since the mechanic was revealed at Worlds in August with Pikachu & Zekrom-GX. This means we can finally define their attributes since we now have a frame of reference!
As speculated, it appears their GX attacks will have extra effects depending on how many extra Energy you’ve attached to them. This is denoted by the “+” in the attack cost.
They feature two Pokemon of the same type on one card, possess much higher HP, are Basic Pokemon, and give up three Prize cards. The Pokemon themselves do not have to be Basic Pokemon — for example, Zoroark & Greninja-GX are Stage 2 and 1 Darkness Pokemon, but their Tag Team card will be a Basic [D] Pokemon.
So far we know there’s going to be a Pikachu & Zekrom-GX, Eevee & Snorlax-GX, Zoroark & Greninja-GX, and Gengar & Mimikyu-GX. Magikarp & Wailord-GX will probably be featured in the Towering Splash-GX Box since the two Pokemon were “randomly” advertised at an official tournament next to some of the aforementioned Pokemon.
We will be getting six Tag Team cards in our Team Up set. This means more are yet to be revealed!
