“Paradigm Trigger” Set Featuring Lugia VSTAR Officially Revealed!
Pokemon Japan just revealed S12 Paradigm Trigger during the livestream for today’s Champion’s League tournament in Yokohama! We first discovered the set’s trademark in January and posted the first information about its cards in June.
The set releases in Japan on October 21st. It will feature 98 cards before secret rares. As posted before, the set will feature Lugia VSTAR, Unown VSTAR, Regidrago VSTAR, and Regieleki VMAX.
Pokemon Japan also released a piece of artwork to celebrate the set. It reveals the set will also include the Omastar line, Armaldo line, Claydol line, Stunfisk, and Stonjourner. Their cards haven’t been revealed yet. This seems to be an “ancient” set, almost like another Fossil or Neo Discovery.
If you purchase a booster box of the set (30 packs), you’ll receive a booster pack containing one of five promo cards. The Lugia VSTAR and Archeops promos are alternate art versions of the ones in the set, Shaymin is completely new, and the rest are reprints.
The set will also see the release of a “Mystery Box.” It will come with seven booster packs of the set, one of four promo cards (one of which is Lugia V), one of four deck boxes, and one of four card sleeves. It’ll cost 2,750 yen.
Both Paradigm Trigger and September’s Incandescent Arcana will be used to create our Silver Tempest set in November. Any unreleased cards after that point should become part of our SWSH special set next year. Then, we should move on to Scarlet & Violet in February 2023.
Other upcoming Japanese releases include a “Special Battle Set Charizard VSTAR vs. Rayquaza VMAX” in November, a “Jumbo Card Collection” in December featuring Lapras, Mew, and Latias, and VSTAR Universe in December.
