“ex Battle Decks” Featuring Chien-Pao ex and Tinkaton ex Revealed for July!

The “ex Battle Decks” featuring Tinkaton ex or Chien-Pao ex have now been revealed! As we posted before, they will release on July 14th for $9.99 each.

Chien-Pao ex (promo #030) is an alternate art promo that hasn’t been released in Japan yet; this means its regular print will remain in our Paldea Evolved set.

Tinkaton ex (promo #031) would have released in Paldea Evolved, but it’ll be cut from the set and turned into a promo for this deck. This is the same as Lucario ex and Ampharos ex, which were cut from Scarlet & Violet because of their own ex Battle Decks (all three cards don’t have alternate art prints, unlike Chien-Pao ex).

Each “ex Battle Deck” will come with:

  • 1 ready to play 60-card deck
  • 3 reference cards
  • 1 rules booklet
  • Single-player playmat
  • Damage counters
  • 1 large metallic coin
  • 1 deck box
  • 1 Quick Guide to unlock the strategies within
  • 1 code card to unlock this deck in Pokemon TCG Live

The original prints of Chien-Pao ex and Tinkaton ex originally come from Japan’s Snow Hazard and Clay Burst sets:

Ability: Shivery Chill
Once during your turn, if this Pokemon is in the Active Spot, you may search your deck for up to 2 Basic [W] Energy, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

[W][W] Hail Blade: 60x damage. You may discard any amount of [W] Energy from your Pokemon. This attack does 60 damage for each card you discarded in this way.

When your Pokemon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Stage 1 – Evolves from Tinkatink

[C][C] Play Rough: 30+ damage. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 more damage.

[P][C][C] Pulverizing Press: 60 damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by any effects on your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

Tinkaton ex – Psychic – HP300
Stage 2 – Evolves from Tinkatuff

[C][C] Big Hammer: 30x damage. This attack does 30 damage for each card in your hand.

[P][C][C] Pulverizing Press: 140 damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by any effects on your opponent’s Active Pokemon.
