Town Department Store from “Ruler of the Black Flame!”

Town Department Store was revealed from the Japanese set SV3 Ruler of the Black Flame, which releases in Japan on July 28th and will form part of our Obsidian Flames set in August.

Town Department Store – Trainer
Stadium

Once during each player’s turn, that player may search their deck for a Pokémon Tool card, reveal it, and put it into their hand. Then, that player shuffles their deck.

You may play only 1 Stadium card during your turn. Put it next to the Active Spot, and discard it if another Stadium comes into play. A Stadium with the same name can’t be played.

Pretty cool with tools no longer being items, making them harder to search. That new Electrode from the 151 set will certainly appreciate this. Also Forest Seal Stone stonks going up as usual.

Town Department Store - decent stadium but some decks puts this in a whole new level. Imagine a Lost Box deck running this to grab Forest Seal Stone or Sky Seal Stone onto their Dragonite V. 4

I actually really like this. Not overly strong, nor will every deck run it, but decks that like the effect can get it with minimal risk of overly helping your opponent.

This is actually pretty decent as there aren't many ways to search Tools now since they became their own category separate from Items. And there are some pretty good tools you can get with it right now including Forest Seal Stone and Choice Belt and even Bravery Charm.

It's fine. Nothing too great, but tool search really doesn't exist outside of Arven, so the more the merrier.

Not as useful as some may think. The card itself isn't searchable so unless you're running a toolbox of tool cards, you're essentially just adding another copy of the tool card you want to search. No difference in running 1 department store + 1 forest seal stone vs 2 forest seal stones because either way you need to draw into them. Though I guess you thin an extra card if you search with department store. Maybe there's some value in that.

There is always value in thinning. Store also works as a general counter stadium if the one in play is more detrimental to you than giving your opponent a free Tool.

Also, don't sleep on Arven's ability to grab Items; he's ain't ready to get in the coffin just yet.

huge difference imo, for the reasons you & PMJ stated, plus running even 1 other tool (sky seal t. ex.) makes it way better
