“Special Set Pokemon Horizons” Releasing in August Featuring Anime Characters!

On August 2nd a new “Special Set Pokemon Horizons: The Series” will release in Taiwan and Hong Kong to promote the debut of the Pokemon Horizons anime and Stellar Miracle; both will release in those countries on the same day.

The product will come with ten booster packs of Stellar Miracle, a “Terapagos and Friends” promo jumbo, and two Sprigatito and Fuecoco promos. The latter are reprints from Scarlet & Violet and Paldea Evolved with new artwork.

The artwork of the three promos features The Rising Volt Tacklers, Liko, and Roy from the anime. This is the first revealed card to feature Terapagos in its Normal Form.

The product will be printed in Traditional Chinese. It’s currently unknown if it will also release in Japan and other countries. It will cost NT$490 and HK$120, which is about $15 USD.

All three promos are illustrated by Ito Kyoko and Rei Yamazaki, who are both animators of the Pokemon anime. Yamazaki is also a character designer for the Pokemon Horizons anime.

Some anime promos have released in the past, such as Ash’s Treecko, May’s Torchic, and Brock’s Mudkip. (As you can see in this news story I wrote 21 years ago. :x)

Bro it’s crazy that the terapagos and friends card is actually good. I don’t know if this card is gonna be legal, but with baxcalibur, you can easily hit 600 damage with a single prizer , which is actually insane
(edit: I didn't realize it was a jumbo card 💀💀💀 )

It’s missing a regulation mark so it’ll illegal like a majority of the cards found in the Pokémon TCG Classic product are.
 
Please don't be exclusive. I already can't find most of the Chinese Go cards with new art.

They have printed multiple cards with similarly "crazy" attacks before, all exclusively jumbo and unplayable.
 
100 for each of your Pokémon?
Imagine how broken this will be with the new Stadium...
 
This made me look up Ash's owner cards, and I didn't realize we'd had two Torkoal that were released as Fighting type cards erroneously
 
I truly wish they'd just do a special set based on the anime, and I wish they'd have done so for years. Imagine if we got 40-90 card special sets based on the XY season, the sun and moon season, etc. They could genuinely make so many cool art rares with cards based on the anime...
