Meowstic, Relaxing Teaser from Supercharged Breaker!

Meowstic, Espurr, and Relaxing Teaser have been revealed from Supercharged Breaker, which releases in Japan on October 18th. We expect most of the cards from this set to become part of the international set Surging Sparks, which releases in November.

Espurr – Psychic – HP60
Basic Pokémon

[C] See Through: Your opponent reveals their hand.

[P][C] Psyshot: 20 damage.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-30)
Retreat: 1

Meowstic – Psychic – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Espurr

Ability: Tempting Tail
You must discard a Relaxing Teaser from your hand in order to use this Ability. Once during your turn, switch in 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon to the Active Spot.

[P][C][C] Psyshot: 80 damage.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-30)
Retreat: 1

Relaxing Teaser – Trainer
Item

You can use this card only if you go second, and only on your first turn.

Put an Energy attached to 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon into their hand.

You may play any number of Item cards during your turn.

Seems like boss isn’t getting reprinted after it rotates. This is fine tho. Games coming down to pulling boss on the right turn are getting stale. This at least offers some counter play in that you can blow up their meowstic if you don’t want them to be able to boss.

And with Arven and Code breaker it seems pretty doable to be able to get this down if you have an esper on the field.

Boss not getting a reprint would be incredible.
But replacing Boss a benchhogger that every deck would have to run would be equally awful.
Just reprint Custom Catcher.
Custom catcher is just so fantastic. What would you think of a reprint of something along the lines of Great Catcher, where it’s limited to rule box and you have to discard for it?

What a weird conclusion to jump to based on this. Seems more like you want Boss to rotate and this is cope lol

They will probably reprint it soon. Idk why they let an important card die off.

Also, RIP caturday

I am not sure with this one. The effect is strong, but which deck can commit so many slots to force a swap? But at least it a choice between coinflip probability of Catcher or costly but guaranteed boss.

Did you play when custom catcher was legal?
I played through the Sun & Moon formats that boss was not legal (I guess this is from Unified Minds through Sword & Shield base set) and it wasn't particularly fun. Not having a reliable gust option took away that complexity of the game and having a really bad gust option was almost infuriating because in order to unlock the very powerful effect of gusting, you needed to play bad cards and get lucky. Plus, I never want to play in a format where flip a coin items are viable and unfortunately pokemon catcher becomes very enticing when boss is off the table.
Once ADP released, the game was not super fun for that reason but I remember that not having gust in the Unified Minds format felt super limiting.

I’d push back on that a bit, I thought it was fun to have to work a bit harder for the gust, plus the single custom catcher effect meant that it was never the end of the world if you only had 1 in hand

I dropped the game when custom catcher was pretty much the only guaranteed "boss" and was awful for single prize decks who already find a hard time to get space on their lists, I think that back then my only "boss" in my single prizers deck was Phione
