Special English “Scarlet & Violet” 8.5 Set Releasing in January, Likely Featuring Eeveelutions and Legendary Pokemon!

As expected, we will be getting a special Scarlet & Violet 8.5 set!

Its first wave of products will release on Friday, January 17th.

They will include an Elite Trainer Box, a Poster Collection, three Tech Sticker Collections, and a Binder Collection. These will have the same configurations as ones from previous special sets, such as 151 and Paldean Fates:

More products will surely follow, such as Mini Tins and ex Boxes.

We expect our 8.5 set will be comprised of cards from Japan’s upcoming ex Starter Deck Generations decks, which will release on November 22nd. There will be nine decks featuring a Legendary Pokemon from each generation paired with another Pokemon from the same generation (spare Pikachu in Generation I, which takes the place of the Legendary):

  • Pikachu ex & Snorlax ex
  • Lugia ex & Tyranitar ex
  • Kyogre ex & Blaziken ex
  • Dialga ex & Lucario ex
  • Reshiram ex & Amoongus ex
  • Xerneas ex & Noivern ex
  • Tapu Koko ex & Mimikyu ex
  • Zacian ex & Alcremie ex
  • Koraidon ex & Paldean Clodsire ex

The set may also feature cards from Terastal Festival, which will release in Japan on December 6th. The set will be headlined by Eevee and its evolutions.

I wonder if the binder and poster boxes will sell as well as 151? I guess it depends on how much hype is built by the community. I hope its an awesome set!
 
Koraidon and... Paldean Clodsire? Ok then... At least Kyogre/Blaziken is kind of cool. Still holding out for my Rayquaza card.... cmon
 
Assuming the typical lack of playability from the Starter Decks, that's a lot of really cool Pokemon (Snorlax, Lugia x2, Kyogre, Dialga, Reshiram, Xerneas, Zacian) getting garbage ex-es.

You forget that not all Pokemon fans are grumpy, sour boomers like some of you fellas and that this a series precisely and directly aimed at kids, as well as people overflowing with joyfulness and adoration for silly/cute/goofy things. This is a Japanese franchise, if you cannot handle cool hats made of light, you are - whether you will ever accept this or not - fully willing to embrace Pokemon. And maybe that's fine, because it means people like me and some other folk will have more room to have fun 😭
 
Gamestop had their B2G1 pro week. Literally, bought out many stores of their Greninja and Kingdra boxes to grade the cards. Had a lot of store credit from selling them many PSA cards. Still do. Now, even online at Gamestop website, they no longer have those 2 boxes (bought those as well). Definitely a good investment. So, when more info is revealed about the Terastal Festival and IF the artwork on some cards (like Umbreon ex) is beyond amazing, then yes, expect a crazy hype. Thats when all that Gamestop credit will come in handy. Pre-order the heck out of it and if there's another B2G1 pro week while they still have in stock in February/March, then yes, you should buy out as many stores as possible. Eeveelutions always sell.
