McDonald’s 2024 Happy Meal Pokemon TCG Promotion Themed After Year of Dragon, Will Include Charizard and Umbreon!
In August we exclusively revealed the annual McDonald’s Pokemon TCG promotion will run in France from December 4th to January 21st. We do not know a U.S. release date yet.
We can now reveal the promotion will be largely themed around Dragon Pokemon. Presumably this is to celebrate 2024’s Year of the Dragon.
Like recent years, you will receive one 4-card booster containing one holo card and three non-holo cards. There will again be 15 cards available. Six of them will be holo:
- Charizard
- Quagsire
- Pikachu
- Miraidon
- Hatenna
- Koraidon
- Umbreon
- Dragapult
- Hydreigon
- Roaring Moon
- Jigglypuff
- Dragonite
- Eevee
- Rayquaza
- Drampa
As usual, all of the cards will be reprints from previous sets but with new McDonald’s numbering. The holo cards will be printed on the confetti holofoil used exclusively for McDonald’s cards.
Confirmed reprints include the following. Unusually, some of them are older cards stretching back to the Sword & Shield era when cards had yellow borders:
France historically runs their promotion a month or two after the United States, but there is still no word when the promotion will come here. Since the cards are obviously themed after 2024’s Year of the Dragon, we’ll likely get the promotion next month or possibly in January for Chinese New Year. Stay tuned!
