Three TCG Collections Releasing in 2025 with New Unique Items, Including Lenticular Card!

We can reveal three new TCG collections are releasing next year — packaged with some new and unique items!

An “ex Collection Box” will release alongside Journey Together on March 28th. It will come with a Polaroid-style postcard, three promo cards, one jumbo card, four Journey Together booster packs, and a code card.

The last time we saw TCG postcards was for 2001’s Southern Islands set:

A new “ex Premium Collection” will release on April 11th. It will come with an acrylic standee sheet, a backdrop card, a photo sticker, two promo cards, six booster packs, and a code card.

It’s currently unclear what these items are or how they’ll work together; perhaps you’ll be able to insert a photo of yourself over a Pokemon card inside an acrylic stand? Acrylic stands have released at Japan’s Pokemon Centers before featuring different characters:

Also on April 11th, there will be a new “Special Collection” that comes with a jumbo lenticular card, three promo cards, five booster packs, and a code card.

Only one regular-sized lenticular Pokemon card has ever released: a Deoxys card inside a special deck for 2004’s Destiny Deoxys movie. Recently, Pokemon’s marketing kits have also featured lenticular posters that change between cards (like Sylveon VMAX and Umbreon VMAX). These aren’t technically real cards, however.

Metal for sure, I hate lenticular products.
I like lenticular but I don't see them as premium, maybe a little bit but not like metal cause lenticular stuff is way easier to scratch but I do think they would be a nice middle ground in between something like the ogerpon/charizard box with the display case/full art and a UPC, maybe closer to an ETB in price.

It's actually pretty interesting to see TPCi expand their product line a bit.

The postcard product is interesting but I kin of view it as being similar to the art cards included in the two-pack tins we see for the special sets.

The ex Premium Collection has mixed responses from me. I like that TPCi is including an acrylic standee sheet (the Digimon TCG has a similar product in the form of their yearly Gift Boxes, their acrylic sheets includes a standee featuring 1 of four Digimon and acrylic tokens you can use in the game). while the backdrop card is probably for the acrylic standee. The one thing I'm not liking about it is the fact that it's an ex-centric Collection, that means it either has a Full Art/SIR print ex cut from the set serving as the promo or an actual promo version of the featured Pokémon ex.

I'm not that impressed with the lenticular card promos, they're nice to look at but they're really easy to damage compared to other non-playable promos.
