“Hop’s Zacian ex Box” Revealed for March!

As posted last week, a new “Hop’s Zacian ex Box” will release on March 28th to tie-in to the release of Journey Together, which hits store shelves the same day. It will retail for $21.99.

The box will come with a foil promo card of Hop’s Zacian ex, a jumbo version of the same card, two foil cards of Hop’s Wooloo and Hop’s Dubwool, a photo sticker, four booster packs, and a code card.

The Hop’s Zacian ex is an alternate art version that hasn’t been revealed in Japan yet.

The “photo sticker” is simply Hop and Zacian from the booster pack artwork:

Can I ask why there is so much hype for this set? From a collector standpoint the revealed cards so far are all meh... the partner Pokémon idea seems to be done very lazily. I look back at the previous S&M era like team up or previous trainer cards and I just don't get excited for these cards like in the past.

Like this Zacian card is literally just a generic stock ex card with hops face stamped on it. Even the SIRs like Iono and Bellibolt are just meh to me. I have to really be interested in something to spend my hard earned cash on these days and these cards aren't doing it. We've had some really great art in S&V so far but Journey Together isn't doing it for me yet

Not all of us are collectors. Players a very excited for this.

I'm a player and the entire character mechanic looks awful. I'm already not a fan of all the label effects (we basically already have 3 just this era with ancient future and to an extent tera), but what is worse about these is how restrictive they are. Marnie's grimmsnarl evolves from Marnie's morgrem, meaning you can't use a different grimmsnarl because they are different evolutionary lines. If they print a Leon's Zard, you literally can't play zard ex as the engine without a completely different Leon's Charmander. Obviously some will be good, but the ones that aren't will never have a chance to be because the mechanic is so restrictive that they can't support them after the year ends and this mechanic is inevitably retired again.
