“Ace Trainer” Rewards Announced for Play! Pokemon, Receive an Exclusive “Celebratory Fanfare” Promo!

TPCi has announced a new “Ace Trainer” rewards program!

For the 2025 season, players who earn 200 CP will receive a “Celebratory Fanfare” promo card in the mail and an exclusive deck box and card sleeves to use in Pokemon TCG Live.

The Celebratory Fanfare promo has been awarded to players in Asia since 2021. Each year it features new artwork of Pokemon that were played in popular decks throughout the season.

The card is a Stadium that says, “Once during each player’s turn, that player may heal 10 damage from each of their Pokémon. If they do, that player’s turn ends.”

Players for the Pokemon TCG, Pokemon VGC, Pokemon GO, and Pokemon UNITE will be eligible to achieve “Ace Trainer” status. Pokemon.com has more details about the program on this page.

No. Only the top 125 scoring individuals from NA qualify for worlds.

Anyone with 200 or more CP gets the promo.
ok, guess they are doing away with the CP threshold and just inviting the top 125? even with the ridiculous threshold of 600cp i recall there were like 1300 masters....

if that's the case looks like this promo is to still give those with a high CP count but not in the top 125 an incentive and reward. i can get behind this as the previous system seemed incredibly pay to win with no guarantee of anything. at least you can get a cool promo this time!

Now I have actual time to post more than a sentence.

200 points is probably about as fair as they could do for 1 releasable promo for everyone. Enough to encourage going to regionals, but still low enough to be doable for only locals. I would very much like to see a second tier of a promo eventually, if they can expand on this. The gap between Ace Trainer and actually qualifying for Worlds varies by region, but some regions that is like a 400 point gap. There's no clean solution for that without leaving somebody out along the way, although leaving out LATAM by itself really sucks and I hope they could fix whatever caused that. Also, this information took forever to come out, but I can only imagine how finite resources are if they had to wait this long to estimate how much of 1 promo could be given out per meeting a point requirement.

I'm probably bias in saying this since I made the 200 point requirement already after Toronto, but are nowhere near making Worlds. If I were to attend more regionals, I'd be attending for the regionals itself anyways.
