For the Third Time, TPCi Reiterates More Pokemon TCG Product On the Way
Ahead of this week’s release of Journey Together, TPCi has once again posted a statement echoing what they’ve already said twice this year: more Pokemon TCG product is currently being printed to address unusually high demand.
We’re aware that some fans are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products due to very high demand impacting availability. We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to acknowledge this. Reprinted products are expected to be available at participating retailers as soon as possible.
For new Pokémon TCG expansions launching in the future, we are maximizing production to increase product availability upon release, and we will continue to reprint impacted products to replenish stock at participating retailers, including Pokémon Center, as soon as possible.
For Pokémon TCG product releases at Pokémon Center, we are committed to providing a smooth purchasing experience and employ technology that helps get products into the hands of fans first and foremost. Currently, Pokémon Center implements a virtual queue for certain products to help provide a more seamless purchasing process during periods of increased site traffic. We will continue to explore measures that help create the best possible experience for Pokémon Center customers.
We’d like to thank the community for their continued support and patience as we work to deliver more Pokémon TCG products to fans.
In the past TPCi has usually taken six to nine months to print more product, so we might see more Prismatic Evolutions by the summer or fall. Currently, what little stock that exists is being sold for much higher than MSRP.
In January I wrote an article on how demand for Prismatic Evolutions was much higher than supply, causing severe shortages to stores. Two weeks later, TPCi announced it promised to print more Prismatic Evolutions “as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity” due to “high demand.”
Earlier this week they also promised more Destined Rivals Elite Trainer Boxes would be available at the Pokemon Center later this year. The product sold out within an hour or two.
Last week Japan restocked some of their sets, including Terastal Festival ex.
Be patient, y’all! It takes time to print more product!
