Highly-Anticipated Team Rocket Sets Likely To Be Revealed This Week!

Based on past trends, we expect Japan’s The Glory of Team Rocket and our equivalent Destined Rivals set to be officially revealed this week! They will release on April 18th and May 30th, respectively.

Furthermore, last year, Japan’s Mask of Change and our equivalent Twilight Masquerade set were revealed simultaneously on Thursday morning (U.S. time). This was one of the few times Japan and the U.S. collaborated to reveal sets at the same time. The sets featured Ogerpon, who is considered one of the more popular Legendaries in recent years.

Our Destined Rivals set will source its cards from Japan’s The Glory of Team Rocket (releasing April 18th, 130ish cards), Heat Wave Arena (released March 14th, 93 cards), and the Marnie and Steven decks (released February 21st, 18 cards).

Based on the English card numbers for Destined Rivals, we know The Glory of Team Rocket will feature about 100 cards in its main set. It should then include about 30 more secret rares for a total of 130ish cards.

We also know from the English pack artwork that there will be multiple Team Rocket humans. Will their cards all be named “Rocket’s ____,” but with their specific Trainer’s icons in the corner of the card? Like Rocket’s Mewtwo with a Giovanni icon? Or Rocket’s Murkrow with an Ariana icon? Or perhaps they’ll all share an “R” icon?

We should get our first reveals of the cards within the next day or so — stay tuned!

Im just so excited to find out exactly how Ariana and Petrel are gonna be featured, Im guessing all trainer pokémon will be "Team rocket's" and then the illustration rares pictures them maybe. Or as supporters. And praying to all gods Archer and Proton are here too
 
I’m sure a lot of people know, but just in case- if you’re interesting in getting some Destined Rivals, we will likely see the first preorder drop on Pokemon Center (including PC ETBs) either tomorrow or Friday. Unless they decide to do a little trolling and change things up (which they did do on Prismatic release day)

I have no idea how popular which legendary Pokémon of this generation is, but I could actually see that either Ogerpon or Terapagos is the 3rd-most popular one after Koraidon and Miraidon. Because I did never see that the "treasures of ruin" or "loyal 3" are that popular. But I haven't watched any series/movie in which they might have appeared
Personally Ogerpon is far from a favourite legendary, but it is one of the most-appealing ones to me in this generation, because it actually has a decent story you can attach to.
 
I really hope that the art for the ETBs/Booster boxes is different from those because they're a little offputting to me I don't know why.

I'm wondering about that. Will the owner Pokémon idea continue in this set, or will it only last until the Heat Wave Arena? Maybe it'll be a mix, with, for example, a Rocket´s Mewtwo and also a Giovanni´s Nidoking.

I reckon it will be trainer specific names. Or maybe Rocket Grunt's X.
