“Fearless Terastal” Set Revealed for China Featuring Exclusive Tera Arcanine ex!

Fearless Terastal will be the name of China’s next Scarlet & Violet set. It will release on May 16th. The set was revealed during their 2025 Pokémon Guangzhou Masters Tournament, which was streamed online.

Arcanine ex will receive a brand new Special Illustration Rare that hasn’t released anywhere else in the world. It was likely commissioned exclusively for this set, like China’s previous alternate artworks. It will no doubt remain exclusive to China.

Fearless Terastal is China’s third main Scarlet & Violet set. Cards revealed so far come from Scarlet & Violet through Paldea Evolved, but there will probably be cards through Obsidian Flames like their last two sets.

China has been releasing compilation sets since 2022 to catch up with the rest of the world. They started with Sun & Moon. Their cards are printed in Simplified Chinese, while Taiwan and Hong Kong receive Traditional Chinese.

I wasn't a Tera hater while we where in the "Tera era" but now that we are out of it this is hard to see. Arcanine is one of my favorite pokemon and I love gemi 's cards usually but here the crown takes a lot of space and the colors are to vivid because of the tera effect.
 
Maybe it’s me but I’m just not into this artwork. Some people claiming it’s the best way to draw the tera hat? Not at all, so many other artists have done it better already lol

That said, the hats never bothered me. This one looks like weird 2000 3D rendering tho.

The colourful goo was definitely an odd choice lol but I think it was still pulled off well. And I agree, it’s not the hats I have an issue with, it’s the crystallized texture on the pokemon itself. I think it just looks bad
 
i love that this implies that other Tera Pokemon might get SARs that didn't in japanese. Lapras, Flygon, Tyranitar, Hoopa just to name a few highlights.
 
Ugly. Several of the worst trends/aspects of card art all coming together here.

I've been waiting so long for a good full art Arcanine. The wait continues.
