Huntail, Gorebyss from The Glory of Team Rocket!

Clamperl, Huntail, and Gorebyss have been revealed from The Glory of Team Rocket! The set will release in Japan on April 18th and become part of May’s Destined Rivals.

Clamperl – Water – HP60
Basic Pokémon

[W] Shell Press: 10 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, this Pokémon takes 10 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 2

Huntail – Water – HP110
Stage 1 – Evolves from Clamperl

Ability: Diver Catch
Whenever 1 of your [W] Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent’s Pokémon, you may put all Basic [W] Energy attached to that Pokémon into your hand instead of the discard pile.

[W][C][C] Hydro Splash: 80 damage.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

Gorebyss  – Water – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Clamperl

[W] Crescendo Wave: 30x damage. This attack does 30 damage for each [W] Energy attached to this Pokémon. Before doing damage, you may attach any number of Basic [W] Energy from your hand to this Pokémon.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 2

On one hand, Huntail can be kinda cute for GLC with all the water energy acceleration and hydro pump style attackers... on the other hand, probably better to just run cards like Starmie, Nessa, Super Energy Retrieval, etc etc... especially since the ability can by bypassed by damage counter placement.

Interesting concept in theory you will never lost their energys as long as you can keep the constant flood of Gorebyss each turn and you keep a Huntail on the field, this deck cant run any card that shuffle cards into the deck cause you always have to keep your energys on hand, so likely a build similiar to Tinkarton with some Dudunasparce is the ideal

And then Dragapult will just shut down enterily this deck with Dusknoir or Dragpult counter that will bypass Huntail abilitie and 60 hp Clamperls arent helpul neither...

love Clamperl so can’t complain. and, lol, as much as i know this set won’t only contain Rocket’s Pokémon, it’s funny that they haven’t revealed a Rocket’s Pokémon since basically when they revealed the set.
Wobbofet and Mimikyu were revealed after that, whats interesting to me is that Rocket Energy provide Dark Energy and yet not a single Dark Pokemon have been revealed (I think the booster pack art showed Koffing and Ekans but not sure If I remeber corretly anyway)

So the Dark pokemon are hell of strong and they are saving for a big reveal or they are weak and just more filler mons

Ok who asked for hunttail to have another card in this forum?? Speak up!

All jokes aside, not too excited for this new set, but maybe it's too early to tell.

That Huntail doesn’t seems that bad certainly has the potential for different decks. And yeah instantly recognized the artist from Lileep AR it looks fantastic

the virgin Newest Clamperl Card (needs to attack to take 10 less damage from attacks) vs the chad First Clamperl Card (has a Poke-Body that makes it take 10 less damage from attacks at all times)
