PokeBeach Podcast: “Prismatic Evolutions” Will Be a Landmark Set for Years to Come!

This week we discuss the official reveal of “Prismatic Evolutions” and its full product lineup, the reveal of all 18 Eeveelutions from “Terastal Festival ex,” our surprising impressions of “Pokemon TCG Pocket,” and more!

The PokeBeach podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and our YouTube channel.

So I have been with Pocket since BETA release due to being located in NZ.

Here are my thoughts overall on Pocket.

The AI challenges are fun, as you progress, you can improve your decks to complete challenges; however, it's hard getting cards you need and eventually the challenges run out and you are left with nothing.

Pack openings are slogfests after around the two week mark, especially with all challenges completed. You seldom get many GOOD cards you want, and your only real source is from Wonderpicks which will more often than not give you nothing.

The shiny dust accessories are too difficult to get, you need to have over 2 of a special card before you can trade in for currency which means you need to focus on 1 type of booster pack to increase your odds which is against the concept of collecting.

My recommendations are...

A) Allow you to pick your wanted card with Wonderpick, make it costs more Wonderpick currency.
B) Let us trade in cards for the currency used to buy specific cards, you can't do much with your current duplicates and even if you could trade who in the heck is going to trade basic cards for higher rarity ones when you can't do anything with them.
C) Increase the hourglass rate or allow us to stack more than 2 packs from simply waiting, let us get up to 10 packs from waiting that way we can open 10 at a time and be somewhat excited by what we could get.
D) Reset challenges weekly for rewards.
E) Give people an EX reward for completing a challenge to make it easier for people to improve their decks.

F) Have the option of sending cards to PSA for grading.
G) In the future, release a Nuzlocke version for more unique challenges.
H) In the future, be able to link to TCG Live so that you can swap cards between both platforms.

???
cards are online only, what exactly would you send PSA? a jpeg?
also Live is made by a different company, sets in Pocket have nothing to do with the real sets and the cards are designed to work within its format
it makes ZERO sense to trade cards between Live and Pocket when they have completely different mechanics and balance

I'm pretty sure their post was a joke, bud.

Are there tricks for the Wonderthing? I rarely get what I want.

Nope. It's really just garbage most of the time. Hence my suggestion lol.
but the game isn't meant to be done in two days. I think it is okay to allow a few month to get everything. So I don't get most of the complains to begin with. The battle aspect of the game is also just a gimmick. It isn't designed for deck building and battles, that's just a side effect of the collection.

Eevee card with a pattern 661 will have a scar on it's eye and people would want to collect the pokemon center exclusive version in Factory New condition. Just watch.. only 1 will be in existence and it will sell for $1.5 million.

I'm looking forward to terastal festival. And I love that ppl can just preorder them easily on the Pokémon center Japan unlike the end of years sets of previous years.

I'm curious if the gold cards are the same etched card style they did for shiny treasure EX. I really liked them.

You are right, it's not meant to be done in 2 days, but I'm over a month in and it's gonna take at least another 2 months and great rng to maybe complete this one. Also, the battle aspect of the game is actually more fun to me personally than the traditional one, it's just a shame about the lack of fresh challenges.

scalpers have been saving money for months for this set, way to add fuel to the dumpster fire with such a title lmao
Costco 151 tins were selling out same day at warehouses. Even fights broke out. Prismatic Evolutions will undoubtedly have SIR Eeveelutions that make scalpers go crazy. Then Trainer pokemon and Rocket pokemon. THEN, We'll have an announcement sometime in 2025 about 2026's 30th Anniversary.
Chinese Year of the Dragon? No
Year of the Scalpers? Yes

after the chaos that will continue to happen with all those sets, we're prolly gon go into the equivalent of junk wax era in sports cards and most scalpers will hav pokemon fatigue and move onto lorcana, one piece, or even dragon ball, whichever collectors they can exploit the most
