Seaking from Terastal Festival!

Seaking has been revealed from Terastal Festival, which releases in Japan on December 6th. We expect most of the unreleased cards from this set to become part of the international set Prismatic Evolutions, which releases in January.

Seaking – Water – HP110
Stage 1 – Evolves from Goldeen

Ability: Festival Lead
If Festival Grounds is in play, this Pokémon may use an attack it has twice. If the first attack Knocks Out your opponent’s Active Pokémon, you may attack again after your opponent chooses a new Active Pokémon.

[C] Rapid Draw: 60 damage. Draw 2 cards.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 1

I think this might be fun in festival lead. 120 and draw 4 for one colorless is not bad
In a vacuum its not bad, but consider its in a deck that uses multiple free searches each turn as its main strategy and has a pokemon that can hit 100 twice. Also consider we're playing in a format with both Iono and Judge and pokemon that 120 damage won't even knock out after hitting twice. The miniscule value this adds to festival lead doesn't justify adding the additional evolution.

Maybe we will get sleeves like the united wings ones with all the festival lead pokemon on it

Not to mention there are so many rival stadiums and stadium popping cards out there that any deck that has to rely on one is at a severe disadvantage. Shoot, Pidgeot EX has a built in removal option as an attack.

Did they think this would improve the deck? What Festival Lead needs is more damage spread and gust protection, not more card draw. Festival Lead will continue being bad after this card is introduced unless it gets damage spread protection better than Rabsca

Keep in mind that these attacks sadly cannot abuse TMs.
Which apparently even Creatures missed, as they released a video in Japan showing Dipplin (same ability) with a TM saying it's a "good combo", which they had to delete shortly after LOL

If the Festival Grounds deck archetype didn't already have good draw power and a good attacker this would boost its potential but both hand disruption and the fact it cannot abuse TMs with the ability prevents a draw four effect from actually lasting. Not to say 120 minimum isn't bad, but Max Belt only lets it oneshot most Stage 1 ex's atm.

However. It could work alongside Tinkaton ex as set up attacker so the whole evolution line has more time to set up its strongest attacks.

Tbh I think drawing 4 cards is pretty good, maybe as a setup option w/ Dipplin. Maybe run a 1-1 line for anyone who actually plays Dipplin anymore, but other than that, it's probably just bulk.
