French McDonald’s Teases “Big Mac” Pokemon Card, U.S. Happy Meal Promotion Coming Next Month?
In August we confirmed the McDonald’s Pokemon TCG promotion will run in France from December 4th to January 21st.
A few days ago the French Twitter account for McDonald’s jokingly tweeted out a fake “Big Mac” card from Pokemon TCG Pocket. This may be foreshadowing the promotion, especially since they commissioned real artwork.
However, there are still no signs of a U.S. Happy Meal promotion. Historically, France has always started their McDonald’s promotion a month or two after the United States. Perhaps this time it’ll be a simultaneous release?
Currently McDonald’s is holding a Mario Kart promotion in both the U.S. and France. We’ve confirmed it runs until November 25th in the U.S. and until December 3rd in France.
If the U.S. is also getting a Pokemon promotion in December, we should hear about it fairly soon. If McDonald’s does not hold a Pokemon promotion next month, it would be the first year they’ve missed a set since they started 13 years ago.
Each year since 2011, TPCi has partnered with McDonald’s to release special promo packs in their Happy Meals. The cards are always reprints, but with new McDonald’s set numbering. The holos are printed on confetti holofoil paper.
