“Prismatic Evolutions” to Feature Three Sets of Reverse Holos!

We can now confirm Prismatic Evolutions will actually feature three reverse holo patterns — Poke Balls, Master Balls, and the usual reverse holofoil pattern featuring the type in the background. (Previously only the first two were announced.)

The Poke Ball and Master Ball reverse holos will use the same designs as the Japanese set, Terastal Festival ex.

This means to have a master set, you’ll need to have four copies of all the regular Pokemon!

Prismatic Evolutions products will start to release on January 17th.

I assume we have no idea yet what the pull rates will be since this will be the first time getting the alternate holofoil patterns in English? Seems too easy for them to guarantee a Poke Ball reverse holo in every pack, a Master Ball reverse holo in every ~3 packs, etc.

Master set collectors cry out in anguish; how big of a binder will even be needed for this set now?

I feared this and until we find out how common the master ball is I will likely only make 3 spaces per card so I can have the regular reverse and pokeball reverse and not have +100 holes I can’t do math but I think this will swell the set out of a standard 360 card binder - but does a full master push it out of a 480 binder too??

I guess this makes the endless ripping for hits in a special set slightly more worthwhile since there are so many more version of cards you’ll need - but still - this gonna HURT

Any confirmation that the Umbreon is going to have reverse holos? I know there was a chance we only got the normal eeveelutions as promos.
I believe we will get the reprints of the eeveelutions from across the past few sets in this set and that the new ones are going to be the promos

the year is 2042, all sets now have 50 reverse holo patterns (one for every type of pokeball that will then exist). you desperately need the textured luxury ball reverse holo of weedle for your Supreme Ultimate Master Set of the new hit expansion "Pokemon Base Evolutions 151 2.0 Deluxe Edition The Remix" - but alas, you can't stop pulling the non-textured safari ball reverse holo of mr. mime.....

The world had already been ravaged by drought, natural disasters, Apophis striking the Pacific Ocean, WW3, and a zombie outbreak. The world was on the brink of extinction as natural resources had been depleting over the years.....we thought the worst had passed....we thought that we couldn't possibly endure more.....and then....it happened.....Charizard Master Ball Full Art Secret Gold Auto 1 of 1, Pikachu 1 of 1, Pikachu /10, Mewtwo /5....

That's a lot in 18 years

I think that workers at the poke company have a mental state where they are seeing humans as moneyprinters. And this would explain a lot of things…

I'm probably in the minority, but pulling out Regular/Poke/Master reverses for a set that will mostly be catch-up starter deck cards just seems sloppy and unappealing to me.

151 had that iconic lineup of original Pokemon. The Poke/Master reverse holos work because the set has a highly collectible, clear theme. It makes sense, is popular, and looks good in a binder.

Terastal Festival is a "best of" just like every other high class set. Most of the Poke/Master reverses are somewhat competitive, and a few are highly collectible (the eeveelutions). A celebratory set that I'd say earns its indulgent holo treatment.

But with Prismatic... aside from the eeveelutions, why go all in with three reverses for a set that's mostly just bulk starter deck extras? Thematically, what's the occasion? Is the main set so slick and worthwhile that it seemed appropriate to polish it up with extra holo designs, like 151 and Terastal? Or are we just doing this because master balls and eevees made a lot of money in Japan.

Maybe I'm just being a stick in the mud. And I'm sure this set will be very successful either way

The new Espeon is in PRE, so does Umbreon, since these are the ones that don't have promo versions. Others were 1:1 reprints

My assumption is that the espeon and Umbreon will be promo-ed out in a product they have yet to announce unless we’ve seen a released image of the new ones in our PRE set
