“Pokemon Presents” Announced for February 27th, Roundup of Current Fan Speculation

As with every year on “Pokemon Day,” TPCi has announced there will be a “Pokemon Presents” presentation on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. PST.

News for Legends: Z-A will undoubtedly be revealed since the game releases later this year. The game was announced on last year’s Pokemon Day along with Pokemon TCG Pocket.

In terms of pure, unashamed speculation…

The TCG is releasing a special Black & White set in July featuring all 156 Unova Pokemon. This has raised some eyebrows about the possibility of a Black & White remake coming. The counterpoint to this is that the TCG is simply releasing a new 151-style set to “stall” until Z-A releases because there’s no other video game content to advertise right now.

Some fans are also wondering if the franchise is hinting at a new Flying-type Eeveelution for Legends: Z-A. The promotional imagery for Pokemon Day shows Eevee and its Evolutions among the clouds in balloons.

From February 7th to 27th, retailers are giving away codes for a Flying Tera Type Eevee for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This includes Best Buy (US), GameStop (US and Canada), Toys R Us (Canada), and EB Games (Australia and New Zealand).

The Pokemon Center is calling 2025 “The Year of Eevee.” (Although the Japanese side is not doing this.)

Of course, Pokemon always manages to throw curve balls in their Pokemon Presents — no one can ever completely predict what they’re going to announce. We’ll find out next Thursday if any of the fan speculation turns out to be true!

The leaks revealed a scraped flying type eeveelution from SM because it was too similar to a fan design. A lot of content that was planned for Z was recycled into SM. Just speculation, but I wonder if that eeveelution was originally suppose to be part of Z (or it was first conceived of then)? It is odd that Sylveon is the only one that is a standalone.
 
If it is indeed B/W remakes on Pokemon Day, an innovation pitch might be better. How about Let's go sylveon/zoroark in Unova style? But only if Z-A has to be pushed to the holidays and/or be ported to switch 2, as I'm expecting more Z-A details this year, not the need for stopgap remakes... But who knows until the day?

Shouldn't that have been read as representing Glaceon? Those things look kind of like icicles, and I don't see an Ice type stamp.
Perhaps the question marks for the balloon promo art are a substitute for Eevee itself. It would be kind of silly, since Eevee's name is probably more iconic than that of any of its Eeveelutions (By varying margins), but it's a possibility.
 
Hoping for Black and White remakes and for the new Eeveelution (hopefully a steel type that is more attack based instead of the special attackers that make up most of eevee's evolutions)

oh good point lol, i just remembered when this image dropped in 2018 ppl were freaking out about steel type eeveelution confirmed lol. in my head i just kinda grouped the glaceon rep with the water effects? under the lightning effect cuz it looks like they are paired next to their counterparts (all kanto types next to each other, dark and psychic next to each other) so ice next to the leaf effects ofc
 
I think it's pretty safe to say it isn't coming out this year at this point. Thankfully.

And no, please do not prove me wrong in a week, Gamefreak.
