'Pokemon Sun' and 'Pokemon Moon' Trademarks Filed!

I think it's pretty much confirmed that it's 7th gen because they were flashing logo of the pairs of games that introduced each gen leading to 2016 Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
BTW, am I the one who notice the diamond mark on the "n" of the Japanese logos could be referring to a new mechanic. Remember black in X and Y, one of the two marks that make up the "n" of the Japanese logos was the symbol for Mega.

Hay If anyone has time look at the symbols for Pokemon sun and Moon They look like Lunatone and Solrock could they be a part of the story in these games?

I don't think so. That's probably just a coincidence with the logos when placed alongside Lunatone/Solrock.

These games should have an entire region of new Pokemon, but as of right now it hasn't been confirmed that these are the first games of the 7th Generation.

Straight from Pokemon.com:

"Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are coming out for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family in holiday 2016, with a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures to discover!"

That was the first place that came to my mind after I saw the pic with the building and the square... It's the most famous casino in Monte Carlo (left) and a super luxurious hotel (right)... Monte Carlo is in Europe in Monaco...
Monaco --> Southern France --> Southern Kalos ???

Wait...if RBY are now compatible with Bank, that's gonna create some bizarre, unique move sets for the Metagame. Bubblebeam Nidoking, here I come!
I thought about that too. I'd also want to test putting MissigNo in there, but I don't want to break my game just in case.

We're going to see combinations we haven't seen in years coming through PokeBank; so it should be really fun to see all these Gen I Pokes come to the forefront with their unique Gen I movesets.

i hope its compatible with nintendo 2DS. other than that i'm pretty exctied about this :) the last image looks a little like Ash and im wondering about the cars / ambulance...

It is compatible with the 2DS, they showed it at the end of the video, below the Holiday 2016

With the Gen 1 compatibility, there are a few possibilities.

1. No Guard Fissure Machamp

This would be fun. They might change No Guard to not include OHKOs, they might just not care that this exists, or they might do the next thing:

2. New Abilities for Pokemon Transferred from Gen 1

Gen III introduced abilities, Gen IV introduced new secondary abilities for some Pokemon, and Gen V introduced hidden abilities. Gen VI was different, but it still found ways to give older Pokemon new abilities: Megas and just slapping them on like in Gen IV (think Competitive).

Sun/Moon could have its own way of distributing new abilities to old Pokemon, and that way could be by transferring from Gen 1 VC games. Sure, this would only apply to 151 Pokemon, but it would be cool since otherwise I'm assuming they'd just get whatever Ability #1 is when sent over, which is BO-ring.

jynxed that's not too far fetched. I mean with Black and White series you had to use the dream world to get older pokemon with hidden abilities. So maybe this is a Dream World of Kalos?

The link to the Pokemon Bank on the Pokemon website states that Pokemon caught in the E-shop titles Red, Blue, and Yellow CAN NOT be transferred to X,Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. So only to Sun and Moon.

I love the designs shown - the vehicles (pokéball ambulance, etc.), the Slaking Motel (it seems to be?), and the large building does seem reminiscent of southern France as others have pointed out...but, who knows. The general vibe seems like a laid-back, fresh-air kind of environment to me, based on the few images. I look forward to learning more!

Welp, the hype is real. Hopefully we won't have to wait a month for them to clarify what exactly are these games. My bet is the Johto/Kanto relation, a new set of games from the new generation that is connected to the previous generation. Am I the only one who thinks that large building might be a water type gym? This is probably a huge reach but it might be something similar to Nacrene gym from BW.

I'm pretty hyped about the releases in Chinese. I'm very doubtful but if there's anyone reading this in Beijing, hit me up!
Apparently you haven't seen the previous article haha:p

And for everyone, rumor in China says that the Hong Kong version of the games will not be region-locked. We can expect the whole regional lockout thing to be completely removed from NX (maybe except for some region(s) where XBOX ONE and PS4 are region-locked:().
Meh... We already knew about the titles... not their fault but they could have at least revealed the mascots... Now I still have no idea what this game is about, even though it looks more and more like a regular new pair of games with no connection to XY...

About the languages, no offense to the chinese but they added 2 new languages to the options: both are variants of Chinese... Still no Portuguese games despite the fact that Portuguese is one of the most spoken languages in the world (I know Chinese has even more speakers but you get the point)...
Although, I must admit, I'm so used to playing the games in English and I like English so much, I probably wouldn't care about the Portuguese option and would still choose English... But I'm sure others would appreciate.

The thing that got me more interested was actually the option to transfer Pokémon from the digital RBY to Sun & Moon. I'm assuming we can only transfer them to S/M because XY/ORAS are not programmed to handle data from those games. But I'm really curious about that now because I'm wondering how the Pokémon data will be changed when transferring the pokémon to the new games.
I mean, in RBY, the data structure was completely different and there are no Abilites, Natures and you can't breed to get certain egg moves. Maybe they reprogrammed the games so the pokémon now have a personality value in these re-releases, though if that's true, I guess when transferring the Pokémon, the ability and nature will be completely random.
But anyway, depending on how it will turn out, I might actually purchase one of the digital releases to make a new in-game team, when before this news I didn't even consider the option.

2 more things:
https://t.co/Re17fGFgiW
- The japanese game logos don't have the Mega Evolution symbol anymore. Instead they feature a crystal. This might indicate a new mechanic (or something else entirely), but this makes me wonder if Mega Evolution was just Gen 6 thing or, if there's indeed a new mechanic, it may be related to it. But it's one more reason for me to think that they are really leaving Kalos behind... which is something I'm not really happy about.

- People talking about vehicles. You play in a world full of awesome creatures with various elemental powers and abilites and you're interested in the vehicles? Seriously?
I guess Gamefreak and Nintendo would really consider adding more languages if the Chinese versions sell good, and I'm sure they will.

BTW I bet the new games will be of the 7th gen while including Kalos.
