Guess I'll go ahead and make one of these then...
I live in Nebraska, which is basically the bullseye of the United States. Isn't that a comfortable feeling? I'm currently working on getting a degree in Psychology with a minor in Business; afterwards I hope to get into a couple years of counseling, mainly dealing with children. After that, I'll head back to school to get a PhD and find a decent firm to work for. And somewhere along the way I want a family, so I've got my work cut out for me, lol.
I started playing the Pokemon TCG when it came out, and stuck with it until the second Gym set came out. I wasn't too impressed with either of them, so I stopped buying packs. Neo Discovery started up, and I decided to give it another go, especially since I liked how Dark and Metal Pokemon worked. But the game didn't keep me, as I lost interest again by the 4th Neo set. Fast forward a couple years, when I found a tournament league by me (Toys R' Us had cancelled theirs a little while after I left. Something about constant theft?) and met up with some of the regulars. Unseen Forces had just come out, so I snagged a deck and played it a bit. I was glad to see the card game hadn't changed much, so I got back into it, and that's where I am today. Diamond and Pearl are making me question whether or not I want to continue actually playing the game (I'll definitely strategize, but as for physically buying the cards, I might stop after this year's tournament season).
Another way I waste my time away with is a game called Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR for short. I'm not one of those insane pro guys that freestyle all over the place or get perfect scores on the hardest songs, but I'm definitely better than most people. That may sound like a bragging statement, but in all actuality, there are people locally that are much better than me and I know it. But they compete and I don't, and I'm extremely good for a casual player. My shortness often hampers me on the fast songs when I have to use the bar because I can't comfortably reach the up arrow at a fast pace, which means I have to shift my weight, something you want to avoid doing on those kinds of songs...
As far as message boarding goes, I frequent 3 sites, Pokebeach, Darker Image Entertainment, and Koan Domain. I mod here and at Koan and I used to mod at DIE's former site name, Spiral Tap Entertainment. I've administered on a board as well, but that was an extremely low traffic board, nothing like this one, with countless new members coming in each day. Most of the time I hang around here though.
