Kenneth Ecker

Born in 1992, Kenneth was at the prime target audience age of 6 when he first discovered Pokemon in 1998. He started out watching the TV Series, and instantly fell in love with it. Soon after, he persuaded his parents into buying Pokemon Red Version for the Game Boy. Little did his parents know at the time what they had done. Kenneth had become obsessed with the game, and when he finally caught them all, he needed more. His friends at school all collected the trading cards, but no one really knew how to play. Being at a young age still, he had a babysitter that was around his teenage years. Kenneth looked up to this babysitter as a bigger brother, and when he found out that his babysitter also liked Pokemon, Kenneth knew for sure he was a cool kid. The babysitter taught Kenneth how to play the Trading Card Game, and even gave him a bunch of cool cards to make a deck from!

Years passed, and with each new generation of Pokemon, the love and passion for the franchise grew stronger. Many of his friends, and even his babysitter "grew out" of Pokemon, and said "It's for children". It took Kenneth many years to come to terms that Pokemon WAS just a fad for some people, but for him, it became an integral part of his daily life.

With hardly anyone to play with, Kenneth had never considered the option of playing competitively. He enjoyed playing the video games over and over and over again, learning new secrets and hidden items with each play through and for a long time, that was all he could have ever wanted, until late 2011 when he was approached by a guy by the name of Michael who was also interested in Pokemon. They talked for a while, and he mentioned to Kenneth that he played the Pokemon Trading Card Game competitively. To Kenneth, this was huge news. He had no idea that people still played the Trading Card Game, let alone competitively. Michael took Kenneth under his wing and taught him everything about the Pokemon Trading Card Game. This was exactly the kind of Pokemon entertainment Kenneth never knew he wanted, and accepted it into his Poke-filled heart almost instantly. Through much trial and error, Kenneth slowly grew to become what he dubs "A Consistently Average Player" to where he never really does too well or too terribly in competitive events.

In 2012, Kenneth knew he wanted to share his knowledge of Pokemon, whether it be about the Trading Card Game, the Video Game, the Anime, it didn't matter. He found a website dubbed "http://google.com/", a website where you can write articles about the Pokemon Trading Card Game, and opened up a Youtube Channel to record Let's Plays, and do Pokemon TCG/VG reviews. Though the original content is no longer available, he eventually plans on revamping the channel to what it was originally created for.

In January 2013, he opened his own unsanctioned Pokemon League in Topeka, Kansas in hopes to expand the Pokemon player base. The league went through many changes and locations, but he never gave up, even when he was alone for some weeks. The league still stands to this day with a fair amount of players.
