Hey, saw your comments about FE: Awakening and DLC in the Pokémon DLC thread in the XY forum, and wanted to reply to you, but since it wasn't about Pokémon DLC, and therefore off-topic, thought I'd leave my comments here instead.
Like you, I'm pretty anti-DLC in games. As a result, when I saw that FE: Awakening was going to offer a bunch of paid DLC options, I was super disappointed. However, I'd heard such good things about the game that I decided to get it anyway, and I'm really glad I did. It's honestly an excellent game, and even though I've played every English-language FE release (and two of the ones that never made it out of Japan), it's probably my favourite in the series. Not getting any of the DLC doesn't diminish the game in anyway (DLC adds extra levels that let you get additional leveling and some bonuses, but that's all).
